A high end Muji Aluminum!
Decent job of design. Quite good engineering. Excessive price.

Since other otto hutt designs are fairly decent priced, I wonder if the pricing on the design C and design 08 are due to certain % of premium paid towards the collab designer?
Most complete review. Thanks!
I always thought the channel name is "Bigfoot on Pens"

Figboot. 😀 If you would care to learn the story behind the name, you can watch my Q&A #1 video from a few years back.
Great photography! Good work.
That is a beautiful pen. Great review!!
Very thorough review well done
As always - a great comprehensive review! Not only did I learn everything I need to know about the pen but that ink is great! Thanks David. And I have to say you have the most consistent - easy to read - handwriting of any reviewer! Keep up the great work - always look forward to a new Figboot video
Such an interesting pen! Thank you!
Thanks for the review, David. The design of this pricy pen is nice, with tremendous attention to fine details. I think a titanium nib option for this pen is seemly.
congratulations and thanks for the presentations Felipe from Brazil
I'd consider it for a thousand less with a steel nib.
Boy does this remind me of my Lamy Persona. Mine is titanium, also a gold nib but with a cartridge converter. If I didn't have the Persona, this might be something of interest. Thank you!
3:11 The top of the cap reminds me of the "power button" symbol! Might be they wanted users to have the power of writing through their pen! 😉.

Apropos considering that the pen has arguably been the most powerful tool in our planet's history.
That Izumo has a really interesting, distinct shape to it...
For $1,200 there are a lot of exceptional pens; unfortunately I don't consider this to be one of them.
David-I suspect that the Design 8 may be more fatiguing than other heavy pens, such as the Karas Ink, because its slimmer design requires more effort from the hand muscles to hold the pen in good writing position. At least it appears to me that the Ink is thicker, and having arthritis I am aware that girthier pens are often less stressful to hold.
If you liked this one, try their design 07. Solid design and the price is more reasonable.
Hi David, yes, your pronunciation of Guilloché is correct, in French you usually omit the last vocal of the word EXCEPT when it has a (´) on the vocal like this word. Nice review as usual, as many other say, I really like this pen but not the price. On Reddit a user that was reviewing another model from Otto Hutt said that what you are paying for is the engineering of the pens, on some models I agree but this one is (unfortunately) way out of that boundary, I could pay 2 Santini for that price and that would be an easy choice. Regards.
Fun fact: the hose part you mentioned is called a KC nipple. KC stands for King Combination.
Nice moruk!
I like the design very much, but excessive weight and no ink window are deal breakers for me (not to mention price). This is a collector’s pen.
I also often choose which pronunciation is more fun for me. For English speakers, pronunciation is more of a suggestion anyways.
So just to make sure I get it right. The lines on the cap are perpendicular to the direction of movement so they provide grip. But not for the other hand that holds the barrel... where lines are in the same direction of movement so contrary to their functionality for the cap/piston knob. 🤦♂️
Nice pen
There is something very LAMY like about this pen, except of course for the price $$$

Yes, especially the clip. Reminds me of my relatively inexpensive Lamy Logo.
Enjoyed the review of an intriguing pen. Now that I've received my Medicare card (egad!), I find myself shifting towards paring down my pen collection. I still add pens of interest at wallet friendly prices (think Ebay!) so sadly, I'll pass on this.
I want to know your personal opinion, is this pen worth buying at this price...? I can't decide Caran D'Ache Leman Graf Von Faber-Castell Classic Sterling Silver Otto hut design 08 Which of these three will I take?

While your tastes might vary...between those three, I would personally take the Otto Hut.

@@FigbootonPens Thank you very much sir, I will take one tomorrow, that will be my Eid shopping this year, I wish you an advance Eid-ul-Fitr,
Great review as usual. Too heavy and too expensive. But that’s just my opinion. Others may love it.
cool.
looks like Lamy had a baby with Porsche Design.... but i Like!!
I feel like this design is what you would get if a Graf Von Faber Castell and a Lamy had a baby. Absolutely amazing design but way out of my cost to pen ratio.
It's the section design that tires your hand. Using a stronger grip than normal grip. I've experience this with Faber-Castell Emotion. I don't get hand fatigue with Diplomat Aero. I wonder getting a product designer rather a pen designer a good idea. He did inject new concept, but it may not translate into a good writing experience.
A poor posting pen is a deal-breaker ... and the insane price is laughable.
Resembles a Graf von Faber Castell model
I am NOT a collector, I did read the other comments and I am willing to agree that this pen is overpriced and I rather feel like you did soft pedal the cost and gave a favorable review. I am just a bit disappointed in the review, my first one! I believe that you can be more critical, I am sorry if this is to negative. You are so positive in your reviews, generally, you like pens! That is ok. See you next time.

Why is it overpriced? Price is relative.
A scintillatingly German pen. Too bad it's so expensive. That is probanly due to the number of machining and finishing processes it goes through that aren't common for pens, but I feel like cost is a design consideration. Maybe don't inlude a subtle design element like PVD coating if it brings the cost up that much. It's definitely a nice pen, but $1200? DAYUM.
Yeh I cant see how you think the price is reasonable. So many defects. Far from perfect. When you compare to Pilot 823 I really don’t see how the difference is is justified.

The 823 is very hard to beat for its cost/performance. But I agree, I don’t think this pen justifies the price they are asking. Too mush gimmicks than function on the piston knob, not very inspiring material nor the level of finish. And can’t really justify it for the “brand”. Unless someone tell me every single grooves on the pen are hand engraved, then that’s a whole other story.

@@ctsealteam6 Even if those lines are really hand engraved, it's a $1200 pen with a plain-ass look, undervalued material, the only unique thing about it is the neatly engineered small details, that again, can be found in many of sub $300 pen. Comparing its cost to value ratio with the 823 is a complete overstatement (at least to me). 823, a workhorse so well reputed globally for at least a decade, against a pen more of an artwork than being a pen.
thank you for the video, but I don t buy it.
looks like a 10 dollar pen
David, I'm pretty surprised, no, VERY surprised, that you find the price in line with what one gets. No, full stop. It's okay to be appropriately critical, and if any pen deserves "you have got to be kidding," this one is it. Absurdly heavy, overly complex filling system, laughable pricing.
