    It is amazing how many pieces make up the inner ear and thus our ability to hear. Never take hearing for granted, it is a gift.

    An instrument called a pneumatic otoscope must be used by doctor to make a correct diagnosis of an ear infection. This instrument will enable the doctor to look in the ear and judge how much fluid may be behind the eardrum. With the pneumatic otoscope, the doctor gently puffs air against the eardrum. Normally, this puff of air would cause the eardrum to move. If the middle ear is filled with fluid, your doctor will observe little to no movement of the eardrum and patient will have pain (like touching an abscess). Please refer and provide accurate information and reduce "Antibiotic Abuse"

  • @nix1929

    @nix1929

    That can happen sometimes, especially if the ear canal is already tender and swollen from the infection or you have a very small canal. It's a bit of a catch-22 in those situations because you shouldn't put the otoscope too far into the canal, but you may need to if swelling is obstructing your view, in which case it may cause some pain.
