Happy 30th anniversary to elevator photography as we know it
@kennixox262
So, back in 1969 when I was about 8 years old. We were in Atlanta and went to the then fairly new Hyatt Regency and had lunch at the Polaris restaurant. In those days dining up there was quite an experience as it was a true sit-down rotating restaurant. An older lady who was on the elevator that we were riding in passed out as the elevator went up through the roof before entering the restaurant. I guess she thought that it was a major malfunction. One of those funny incidents. I suspect that it being the cocktail hour that the old lady may have had one too many prior to the elevator ride.

Was really cool to see these. The former Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, MI had a similar design (including a revolving restaurant at the top) and had the same type of scenic elevators back in the early 1980s. The circular floor design in the elevator lobbies is a remnant of where a pedestal-style call station used to be located. Each had two big plastic white lens plunger-type buttons on top; "up" would be lit in white and "down" would be lit in red once pushed. I have never been able to find any video on KZread of these vintage pedestal-style call stations; I suspect none are in service anymore. The original fixtures inside the cars were Otis Lexan (halos) if I recall correctly, though it's been a long time.

My, this hotel got some facelift. The new colour palettes are also really nice.

Was that a special key card you used for 24 or just a regular guest key card?

Wow the elevator looks different now! 🤔
Can you do a video on your PBX? Do you use CME?
Why couldn't you reach the rooftop restaurant?
