Otis Elevator Tour: Not-so Contemporary Resort, Lake Buena Vista, FL

Here is a Tour of ALL of the elevators at The Not-So Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL. This tour features The Main Hotel Elevators, The Monorail Elevator, The Garden Wing Elevators, and the Bay Lake Tower Elevators. The elevators in the Main and Garden Buildings use to have Series 1, and before that Touch Sensitive/Lexan. While I'm glad Otis modded them and NOT KONE, the new mod is just very Generic. Also, I call this place the Not-So Contemporary Resort as the hotel opened in 1971, and the decor looks more like a 1950's or 1960's beach resort. Anyways, with that being said, enjoy the video!!!

Modernized: Late 80's/Early 90's (Main Hotel and Garden Wing Elevators, Otis Elevonic 401(Main Elevators), Series 1), 2013-2014 (Main Hotel and Garden Wing Elevators, Otis Series M2 with Elevonic 411M (Main Elevators))

I’m going to be staying @ the Bay Lake Tower when I go to Disney later today. Hopefully my band can unlock the 16th floor lol. Also, from what I’ve seen on other people’s videos of those, I think there’s a 2nd set of elevators there.
That room behind the one door of the main elevators is actually where the service elevators are

The 1st mod could've been done in the 80s but other than that that's pretty accurate

The first mod to the 401 models were done in 1985. The original elevator were extremely slow and often broke down. I personally know I was stuck in 1 for 30 mins in 1981. Also 1985 mod the elvonic 401 had a male synthesized voice till 1998 ie floor 1 going up.

@@drjuicefire7025 I have done research and that would make a lot of sense since I found out the hotel did undergo pretty major renovations in 1985, in part due to the "modular" design of the rooms resulting in issues with mold. What were the elevators like before the first mod? I've heard some people say they were Otis with Square Touch buttons but I've also heard someone say they were Westinghouse or some other brand originally.
Fourth level has the monorail station.
The main elevators brailles seem to suggest Westy was the original brand, not Otis when it opened in the main tower. They could also easily be glass. The first 1 you got must be the 1 that doesn't serve 15. I've seen quite a lot of Otis elevators where the down arrow flashes. And this is how Christmas should be, not so much snow. On the plus side, there are days you don't have school because there is so much.

The number 5 elevator doesn’t go to the 15th floor. Prior to 1995 when the top of the world was there all 5 guest elevators went to floor 15
Also, I am going to park city Utah and they have a 1960's Dover as well as several us elevators. Do you want me to film one for you? Just let me know

1:48 This is why I do the "Police Hack" trick when I go on elevators which are over 10+ stories while filming. The Police Hack trick is when you hold the door close button & your floor button for the whole ride until you reach your floor. Heck, I might use my GoPro for my Christmas Break UEEs next week.

Yeah, I agree, although this isn't the worst Otis Series M2 I've seen. The only 4 OTIS Series M2 elevators I've been on were 2 of them in the Empire State Building then another 2 in the Poughkeepsie Grand. The Empire State Building was fun because OTIS kept the 1950s Millar motors but the Poughkeepsie Grand was okay
