Did you ever hear of the Japanese Otaku Culture? It includes manga, anime video games, girls idols, and so on. To get to know more of this culture, we visited Nippon Bashi in Osaka and Akihabara in Tokyo. Those areas are well known for people who describe themselves as Otakus.

Otaku culture seems like a broad term. It would be great to learn more about the specific hobbies that are generalised by this term, i.e Hikikomori

Otaku is a term used to describe a Japanese person who is obsessed with their hobby (something like anime, manga, or video games, but it can be all manner of things)
オタクとか引きこもりなども私が日本にいるときはなかった概念で、数年前からこういう人たちが増えていますよね。 人との関係がうまく取れない日本人が増えてきているようです。 この理由なども又リサーチしていただけたら嬉しいです。 次回は着物の着付けですか🥰素敵でしょうね。 マルコさんも着られるのかな。似合うと思いますよ。

ネット社会が浸透してからやはり増えていますよね。 人と直接話さなくてもリモートで仕事が出来たり、SNSで簡単に繋がれたり。。いい所も、あまり良くない所もありますね。 ありがとうございます🌸マルコも着ました！とても似合っていたので是非楽しみにしていて下さいね☺️👘

So they have a medical condition like social anxiety? That’s why they can’t talk to others???? I’m so confused. Maybe after the interview if you could interpret the gist of your conversation so it’s more clear.
The few people you stopped to interview look like grown adults who haven’t really grown up. I don’t really relate to the obsession.
