Great show! This is the best time of the year with recruiting! I remember it was near July 4th when JT committed 2021. Inniss & Tate as well in 2022. Even though Justin Scott de-committed in November last year he committed early July 2023. Gotta wonder the big 5 stars coming here in the next week or so.

Sanctions must be real;) Michigan is reeling in the limelight. I remember it started when Las Vagas Gambeling Comission tracked the IP to that 2021 Assit COY who then went to Flordia; seems they found his half time gambling, then video of Ohio State Practices from the OSU server, and also all the video from the Connor Stalions Operation. The information was shared to the entire coaching staff. NCAA is going to make -Ichigan "Twist and Shout".

There is no "Hammer" that is coming down. Michigan will likely get light punishment. Losing their head coach for 3 games was probably overkill.

Many schools have been paying players for years.

I am fine with the original intent of NIL. Pay for play with high school recruits is ruining college sports. Hopefully some reasonable legislation is coming soon.

Meyer never won a natty with a perfect record. The knock on Urban was he always had one game his team laid an egg.

Myers lost to Purdue because they stopped passing the ball. Kept trying to run the ball.

I've heard they have another punter with a year or two of experience.

Missed your show because I was doing my own show. Y'all welcome to come on our show if you really want to debate Michigan issues. We can even have Mark Rogers (an OSU fan and head of "Voice of College Football") be the moderator. As for Michigan recruiting... Michigan fans are very happy. We are already #15 and have a shot at the top 10. Also Our #1 target did not go to OSU as was claimed. Roy was never the #1 target. Being somewhere between 10 and 20 in rankiing has netted Michigan 3 straight wins over OSU, 2 Straight B1G Title games, 3 straight College football playoffs (how many teams have done that?) and a National Title. Recruiting has to be very good, but it does not have to #1 for Michigan because they find hidden gems and they develop players and those players stay longer. Michigan has a very nice formula that works for them.

Stop with this national title or bust crap 🙄 That concept does not even exist at a program like Ohio State. Every single year they have the talent and ability to win it all. That isn’t changing. We aren’t even the favorites to win a title this year! Kirby Smart is probably laughing at us with all the hype and pressure we are putting on the team. Meanwhile, not a soul is talking about Georgia and I’m sure he loves it that way.

Np they cheat cheat and cheat

I gave this a "thumbs down" simply because it seemed to be common knowledge for guys who watch "other podcasts" that Sanders had a girlfriend in Tennessee. Also, JUCK ON BUCKS was alerted to David Sanders giving the quasi "gang sign" of Vols with his fingers during a picture for OSU. I'm not saying Sanders isn't in the OSU fold as far as he's concerned, but David Sanders doesn't seem like your typical "offensive line/can't be without my girlfriend" college lineman. He aspires to medical school and therefore doesn't fit the "fat dude who can't live without his girl" that Kirk mocks. I think he and his "girlfriend" have some type of mature commitment that doesn't fit the ordinary stereotype. So the Scoop dropped the ball on this one. I love you guys and watch you often and love the family atmosphere you have with your patrons, but some of us aren't wired to be a perpetual fan boy. True friends will give a hard truth. And you guys were caught off guard with the Sander's/girlfriend info and I'm not sure you did Ryan Day any favors with your response...it seemed like a 'deer in the headlight' thing to me. How about we not start drinking our own Kool Aid when talking about how MASSIVELY AWESOME Ohio State is and possibly offend any recruit that many be watching, or their posse who may have influence. David Sanders isn't your typical lineman or typical student, ambition wise. So it seems that lumping players like him into some kind of "girlfriend crazy blob" seems too convenient and therefore not very savvy.

yeah I know these are tough times to be an Ohio State fan. But stay strong---they can't stay this bad forever! We will try to be more negative as soon as terrible things start transpiring

No Kirk I have to slightly disagree with you as to why you guys lost the 2006 BCS Title Game vs FLorida. And I feel overly arrogant here saying this to you as someone who was an integral part of that team and process however I'm also saying this because I know part of you will agree with me as well on this point. And that is that you guys had the longest layoff between a season finale and a bowl game. You guys were off for a record 7 WEEKS---51 days vs Florida's standard 35-37. That's two extra weeks in which this team was wined and dined and fattened up for the proverbial slaughter on the field. Troy as the team leader lost his edge if we're being honest here. He was not the same warrior he was heading in to all those previous big games and it was because he was feted to the nth degree before, during and after winning the Heisman. And I'll say that I don't know if I would've been able to hold up as well either after I go on my first-ever trip to NYC and meet celebrities, get a hometown parade in Cleveland---which by the way should've been reserved for if he won the national title. Then you could celebrate all of it. But it was presumptuous on the city's part to hail him in such a way when chapters were still being written. My point is when Troy lost his edge, so did some of the rest of the team. And then couple that with the unexplainable and unexpected injury to Ginn Jr to start the game after scoring a TD on the opening kick. Roy Hall and other guys' reaction to him scoring said, "We're just happy to be here." You would've thought Ginn scored the winning TD with seconds remaining the way they pounced on him. Then throw in the Urban Meyer factor. None of us really knew the type of competitive beast Urban was as a head coach. We thought we were facing another Mack Brown, Kirk Ferentz or the late Joe Tiller---a good coach but not anyone who'd pose a serious threat to us. This Buckeye team were believing in the hype that they'd win that game just by showing up---esp when nearly everyone predicted we'd win including at ESPN of all places. ESPN The Magazine had an article where they had a line in there about the things teams will get for Christmas or the holidays in general and they said about the Buckeyes that they would be making a trip to the ring fitter for their championship rings---days and weeks before their game against the Gators. And Meyer saw this and showed it to his team. Showed them the BCS Title Game program where only 8 pages were dedicated to them while the remaining 30+ to the Buckeyes. He hammered home to them how no one believed in them or gave them a shot to win. And when you give that speech constantly and consistently over a 4 week period to an already talented roster of players, you as the opposition better bring your A-Game. And we didnt for all the reasons I mentioned above and beyond.
