It's wonderful to see the lore of the Empire laid out like this. In my campaigns, when I interact with an Imperial province, I can picture what kind of people I'm dealing with.

So basically, Ostermark is Warhammer's Hungary.

OMG you never hear anyone talking about Ostermark! I'm digging these province lore videos.

Anyone think the Knights could make for an interesting regiment? Just make them really OP in a fight, but every so often just have a random event that makes them take like 50% attrition?

6 years late but these came up on my feed and I’ve been going through all of them. The heraldry on the Ostermark logo is in fact not a Manticore or a Gryphon but a Cockatrice. You can Google cockatrice heraldry to see the similarities. This is noted way back in White Dwarf 147 (I’m old) in one of the first major articles on the Empire army as it would be established for the remainder of WHFB. Amazing videos by the way love hearing all the “recent” lore I never knew about during the later editions.

Lots of ogres, thats Ostland, not Ostermark.

I think the Mordheim and the War of the three emperors time period is the best and most interesting period in WF. It's definitely my favourite. It was a time of rich history and lore. Although I love TW Warhammer the game, its just too close to the end times and the end of that wonderful world. I really hope Games Workshop starts working on that old world period, from a video games standpoint.

The heraldry of Ostermark is not a victorious griffon, it's a manticore that their first king slew and that's why it has a crown.

I've come across a few of your videos recommended via some other lore or Total War: WH vids and have really enjoyed them! Subbed while watching this, gonna also need a Stirland and Averland vid as well to determine who I crush..er..corrupt..er..visit first when playing Vampire Counts :D

while you tell us about lore of knights of the everlasting light or eternal light. what bonus that gave to them in battlefield? it would be cool if CA added this knights in TWW and put some event where you had those knights in your army and you in own settlement for replenish, in 2 or 3 turns you knights would got attrition so you must get rid off them or you must move your army. that's my idea for knights of the everlasting/eternal light.

@@attila535 yes but bear is Russian National animal, Tzar is russian king, they have Russian and Ukrainian names not polish,. Only unit in kislev army that looks like winged hussars are cav everyone else is russia based.

Taking the coronation of Karl Franz as start date for Total War Warhammer as that is where the empire campaign starts and we have a solid date for it in the lore.

jh44574 No they are Ostenberg (something like that) Apart of the Holy Roman Empire, Reikland is Austria, Marianburg is Holland, etc.

Well, they do both have heavy cavalry, but Prussia never lead the HRE. The Empire is the HRE, and Austria ruled the HRE.
