After completion of this video session, it is expected that you will be able to:
00:00 Describe the osteology of the clavicle
00:52 Differentiate between right and left clavicles
02:29 Identify muscle and ligamentous attachment to the clavicle
04:46 Explain why the clavicle commonly fractures between the middle and lateral thirds
05:10 Outline the ossification of the clavicle
You will be able to identify the following structures:
Area for the costoclavicular ligament, a groove for the subclavius muscle, areas for the coronoid and trapezoid ligaments (coracoclavicular ligament), facet for the sternoclavicular joint. articulation with the first costal cartilage, attachment of the pectoralis, sternocleidomastoid, deltoid, and trapezius muscles, attachment of the clavipectoral fascia, conoid tubercle, trapezoid ridge, facet for articulation with the acromion at the acromioclavicular joint.

    In order not to cause confusion for beginners,you should have followed anatomical position as is used in the textbooks. this video can be misleading

    +Human Anatomy Education The bone that you called it left clavicle it should be right one case it located on right side of model.

    +Heidar Shaloom In the part of the video that explains how to side a clavicle the description used the correct clavicles. However, in the introductory part of the video, the separate clavicle did not conform with side of the articulated skeleton shown. Since the introductory part was a general description without concentrating on siding the bone at this level, I gave myself the freedom to use different side clavicles. Thank you for your keen observation and your interest.
