i barely recognized you in this video compared to 2019 lol
Wow - some many specific and general insights into the mechanics of judo throws just from this one video.
Holy god, when he demonstrates his entrance practice at 4:30 , I looked away for a second a legit got scared from just the sound. It sounded like a grown-man was being totally manhandled and when I looked up, that's exactly what I saw. Thank you for everything that you do.
this is way more thorough than what i learned in my bjj dojo. thank you!
I thought I was on a different channel

Excellent instructional video for all ages. Thank you.
Amazing detail! I love the way you broke down the task of each arm and leg. I look forward to seeing more of your video tutorials! Thank you.

Wes Burmark taking requests. Thanks for watching.
Excellent demo. Great teaching skills Sensei
Added to my Osoto Gari - Techniques playlist for good instructions.
Great video! I've never seen anyone explain how to do Osoto Gari so well and in so much detail. Thanks!
You are the best Shintaro truly
One of your best videos shintaro
Love this, thanks. We drill this every now and then in our BJJ class, but with terrible technique and details. Love all the full speed demos and w slow mo from different angles at the end, and I wish all your newer vids would do this too, as without it, the move doesn't quite make 100% sense. So I really hope you add this back into all your vids. Also the initial full speed demo at the start puts all the details into perspective.
thank you for the videos, they are a great resource!
Great Explanation. Good Job
Thanks for the upload. A good Solid instructional video.

@ 4:20 when he start speeding up he scared me. Awesome !
Hello Shintaro. Great tutorial you made. The slow motion parts are very helpful. You should use it more in your videos. Regards, Dirk
Hi I started this sport when I was six in 73 I did 10 years of Judo
Wow this has extremely useful details. For sure you should make some more of these with other throws.

Really like this. Any chance of covering Seoi otoshi?
I like high grip for Osoto but this is a great video on the right way to show it in an exam.
Oh boy, one of the old ones. Back before your belt got all colorful and stylish.
Wow the channel is so huge now its weird to see only 74 comments
Looking at the dojo brings back so many memories. Next time I'm NYC I'm coming to visit.

'Checking the watch' Is weirdly helpful for me. Thank you Mr Higashi ! p.s Breath-taking power and speed @ 4:30
Very nice.
5:55 when you did the throw... no watch was checked and no phones were answered.

I had my right leg swept out and it tore the knee cartilage (meniscus) but on my left knee and I couldn't train for 4 months. How come it hurt the opposite leg?
Nice tutorial
best anaology of osoto gari - check your watch and answer the phone...Genius
Nice haircut.
having such a hard time with the initial offbalancing (looking at the watch part) and it is a crucuial element in many judo throws.

just maintain your space between uke. im small, often lower my center of gravity slightly before bringing it back up to help better pull uke off-balance (for forward throws, not so much for backward throws like osoto)
How do you practice osoto gari from home without uke?
Is it me or does this video not have sound anymore?
From Brasil: muito bom.
nice
good
Never seen any successfully use osoto gari in randori by doing the uchi komi way. They always throw out the reaping leg, and jump into position. Everytime I try the uchi komi way always get countered with same move.
Look at baby shintaro aaww
There's a lot of work and physical effort here for a waza that can be much simpler. I find the stuff about throwing a baseball misleading: you don't need to rotate your opponent around like this. Just the kuzushi and applying the shoulder against the opponent's and pushing back is enough to create the situation for the reap.
Whoa, check the watch is pretti good, I was taught to pull outwards and down, like going behind uke´s butt.

This haircut almost matches your brew haircut sensei...oh yeah I read an article recently written by someone about you but it was in a bjj newsletter...they called you a 6th degree black belt in judo..I thought it was only 5 degrees of black and after that you're in red and white.
Sensai, thanks for video and you're good looking in short hair.🙏🙏🙏
Your instruction is always easy to follow. Dude you shed some pounds

I never knew this throw was a thing, I’m glad it wasn’t something I made up in my head even if it was a little off
