As a Norwegian living in Oslo for most of my life and now living in the exact same area as you started your tour I can confirm Oslo is immensely dull during winter time. Come back in the summer. Explore Grønland again, «Løkka», St. Hans Haugen, Barcode, Salt Art, Youngstorget, Aker Brygge and of course the many parks and you will get a completely different view of Oslo by night. 😊

I've only managed to enjoy cities when I have zero obligations there. I never saw what I had when I was right in the middle of it because everything is supposed to happen yesterday. It's bitter sweet because behind all that grey concrete and shiny lights, there is beauty to be found. Sadly the fabric of society through expectations alone create so many unhealthy relationships, and some may manage to create something, but most just pretend and put on a fake exterior when they walk out the door. To be honest it's the worst jobs I had that I remember the most now that I can look back on it all. Now I see the value of all the hardship I had to go through. I will never live in the city again though because I know the minute you set foot in there again, it's just all about how to make that bread and then you loose sight of any purpose. As I said, it's bitter sweet and I know a lot of people will relate to this. There are of course pros and cons to everything, like I never imagined how fortunate you are when you have streetlights and sidewalks available. Now I have nothing of that, so when it gets dark, it gets really dark. You just have to adapt no matter how and where you live. Oh, and now there's a lot more snow as well and I never really had to think about that when I lived in an apartment. I even have to shovel my roof now, and it's all part of living in the middle of nowhere.

Ålesund, Bergen or Stavanger maybe, then inland there are so many good nature places, Gudbrandsdalen obviously being high on that list. Rondane, Kjerag, Lysefjorden(with pulpit rock), Hardangervidda, Sognerfjorden.. just so many quintessential "Norway" spots.

Norway has the highest rate of overdoses from drugs per capita in all of Europe. And most addicts per capita in Norway are in Oslo. So we have that problem here already unfortunately. But the police always push them out of the most frequented areas, so there are a few places downtown in Oslo that are crowded with addicts, otherwise they're not really that visible. It's really all very sad, it's because Norway has extremely harsh penalties for drug use compared to the rest of Europe.

99% of night life in Norway happens inside the clubs. There are like a club for every type of setting you would want within a 4 km radius. The problem is that the information is a bit hidden because what the places project. Is not always what they are. Several places are hang outs for politicians, rappers, theater type, rap, jam, beer and wine interest, disco, teens, not teens etc etc. Anyone can go to any place and that is why it is sort of difficult to know where to go unless you know. For example, poor people can go to the rich places. People dressed like rappers can go to jazz places and so on. Everyone is sort of expected to behave in a given manner, which ironically also includes when fights break out. Yeah, there is a unwritten code of conduct when it comes to arguments as well. No one carries weapons. The bouncers are always large dudes if it is a place that have more issues and since Norway is not that big. Known Ahole locals that are in irrational gangs and such. Do not get in. You see a Hells Angle guy at a political disco club. You now he is going to be on hes best behavior and so on.
