Osibisa - Beautiful Seven (Austrian TV, 1972)
The group Osibisa was founded in 1969 in London and consisted at the time of its formation of Teddy Osei (saxophone), Max Tontoh (trumpet), Lasisi Amao (tenor saxophone, percussion), Sol Amarfio (drums), Robert Bailey (keyboard), Wendel Richardson (guitar) and Spartacus R (bass guitar). The band members translate the band name loosely from Ghanaian as "criss cross rhythms that explode with happiness". They were considered the pioneers of world music from the mid-1970s and paved the way for other great artists like Bob Marley. They had their first success with the song "Music for Gong Gong". This was shortly followed by "Sunshine Day", "Dance the Body Music" and "Coffee Song". Their album Woyaya rose to number 11 in the LP charts of the time and in the mid-1980s they built their own recording studio, a theatre complex and their own record label "Flying Elephant" in Ghana.
Spotlight was a music programme for young people broadcast by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) between 1968 and 1978. It was the equivalent of Beat Club or Musikladen in Germany.

The first track from "WOYAYA", one of the finest albums ever recorded by anyone. Such a sensational album and group. I listen to this LP weekly 50+ years now and counting.
Thinking of my late uncle who introduce me to OSIBISA 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I'm still to the "L.P" he gave me in 1972. WOYAYA
Hermoso que te voy a decir, los 70 sin duda mejor que la de los 80 y las posteriores

I bought Woyaya when it came out as I saw Bernie Marsden carrying a copy, and he knew music. Amazing album! Even Abraxas struggles to rival the rhythms and beat.
Главное, стучать в барабаны
