I just turned 29 years old in February and I have to say I had a rough past. From being molested at the age of 10, joining a gang at an early age, dropping out of high school at one point, my biological parents abandoning me & being robbed at gun point on 2 separate occasions, seeing someone getting murdered in front of my aunt house, being homeless, losing a lot of loved ones like my step dad, my mentor and being in and out of foster homes and group homes. But God is so good and helped me overcome my trials and challenges. This past year I graduated with my associates degree and now I’m working towards obtaining my bachelors degree, majoring in Sociology.

It's called intergenerational trauma. A cycle of human misery stemming from an unbroken chain of intergenerational poverty, abuse, socioeconomic exploitation & marginalization, dating all the way back to slavery. Societal mistreatment & dehumanization is internalized by it's victims who then turn that hate on to themselves & those closest to them. "Hurt ppl hurt ppl", on an industrial scale. You see the same issues in Native reservations as you do in ghettos. That's their purpose for existing, isolating the concentrated human mysery produced by the legacy of colonial capitalism, slavery, genocide & continued systemic institutional racism. And yet still the human spirit persists, through all the suffering & deprivation, ppl fight to break the chain, families find a way to keep love & hope alive & ,against all odds, have managed to produce some of the nation's best & brightest citizens.

@@ubahfly5409 ok that makes sense. I’m light skinned as hell and still deal with racism in Boston. So I can imagine what some of y’all go through in them peckerwood states. It does make you hate the world when you’re judged by your skin color. I remember being young and telling myself “I’m going to sell drugs to all the white people” as sort of revenge for treating me like I’m not human at times. Sounds cruel but I was taught to dislike white people at a young age, in the 90s in Boston it was rough and people were very racist. I went through something similar to him coming up through the 80's as well. My mama beat me my whole life without me ever deserving it and even struck blood. She never even had a conversation with me, EVER! I just got beat and cussed out. My younger brother never got the treatment I got, never. Now that I'm a grown man she and I don't have a relationship at all. When she and I had a conversation when I got older she points back to what she went through with my dad and him beating her, and taking into account that I'm the spitting image of the man in every way imaginable, everything was taken out on me in the worst way. I've heard this happen to someone else that came up older than me, maybe its a generational thing. My mom has been apologizing for how she treated me growing up for the last 20 years and too be honest the apologies mean nothing. You have no idea what that type of abuse and isolation does to your psyche..............to be alone in a house full of people and nobody give a fuck about you.

@@knwashingtonTrue. His mom already rejected her because of who she was pregnant by. A lot of people arent strong enough to take rejection from their family and still properly parent or try to parent their children. The grandma was angry that her daughter had a baby by a guy 20yrs her senior and getting on drugs. She couldn't parent her daughter and she took out that frustration on her grandchild. This is very unfortunate and evil but it happens. Black men and boys get a pass and never get held accountable for their wrong doings in the family or community! AMEN!

They gave me papers and I was in a foster home and got bounced around cause no one wanted me. I'm grateful for all my experience. I was never a child just street wise

He was months away from being 10 yrs old, ran away from a group home and was told he had to bounce?😢 I've never heard of an evil grandmother👵 What's usually extra special about a grandmother's love is her ability to love her children and her grandchildren and to make the entire family feel loved. So much dysfunction and yet this man is courageous to tell his story so honestly. May God continue to protect him and hopefully he will be loved by a family who isn't biological but shows him unconditional love💞💞💞 🫂🤗

@@troydogg2716 No 2 days are the same for me. There's no perfect human being and not every parenting style is identical nor ideal but Oschino's grandmother was exuding a weird favoritism. There were other siblings in her home so if she cooked a pot of food 🍲 why was he neglected?🙄 Why was it okay for his older brother to live with her but not Oschino? These are rhetorical questions. Neither of us know the answers but...🤫😔

Love to this brother, shit sad bro and people talk bad about people who grow up with both there parents and they have everything they need, those kids get called soft, but it's like would you rather them grow up in similar situations and this man. NO CHILD should have to go through this bullshit. Children deserve the best chances and opportunities they can get. Salute to every child that made it out the struggle, cause it ain't they fault, they just dealing with the cards they was dealt, but I pray as a people that we can give as many children as we can better chances and opportunities, so they don't even have to go through shit.
