Oscar de la hoye is known as one of the worst promoters out there who always loses his fighters wi what you say and your personal biases are neither here nor there. As for us normal people it’s the results that count whether you like Mayweather or not.

One of my brothers friend met him in the golf course in Montebello on a normal day that Oscar was just their chilling golfing with some friends. He asked him for a pic and Oscar said yea and also gave him a beer from his cooler talked with him a bit , and shadow boxed with him lol he said he's a chill dude

Good interview and wise words from Oscar De La Hoya. He has a unique perspective as a promoter and hall of fame fighter. I liked his words about Spence. Boxers lose all the time. Spence can regroup and come back stronger. These days when fighters lose a fight it's the end of the world. In earlier days when boxers lose a fight, oh well. Just come back, train hard and keep fighting. Oscar is from that generation.

I’ve always said Derrick James is overrated. Martin looked bad against Artem in his last fight and won by 1 point, a close decision against someone who’s frankly a nobody. Errol showed no adjustments in the Crawford fight, AJ looked worse in his couple fights with DJ. Idk how DJ got this popular, but I don’t see what the guy does so well.

Great interview. Forget the negative for a second, This guy is a legend in the sport and put on some epic fights. Great jab, left hook from hell, ring IQ, Grit, and Charisma. He faced everyone and was spectacular in doing it. I think a younger Oscar would have defeated Manny! The entertainment industry has become more about what happens outside the sport than in.

Oscar changed trainers at least 5 times. He can't talk about trainer issues. Those last guys really screwed up his weight cut for Pac. You want to lose fat and water when cutting. Oscar stripped muscle with some stupid diet. Pac came into the ring heavier than Oscar.

Why does Oscar keeps mentioning that Bud needs to stay active?? Bud and Errol were thought to be rematching early this year, so it's not Crawfords fault that Errol waited until the last minute, right before announcing the rematch date, to say he just had cataract surgery, which shelved the rematch. That wasn't Bud's doing, so stop pretending like Bud's sitting around not doing anything!!!!

@@TheRulerRoderickSutton They had a rematch clause that he had to honor, Errol screwed that rematch up by delaying that cataract surgery from late July to early Febuary, so how is that Bud's fault???? Errol could have taken maybe a 2 month break after that 7/29 fight and had that surgery done in late September early October, but he decided to wait til Febuary, 7 months later. Errol was trying to stall out Bud from moving on to other fights. He caused Bud to have to sit around idle for 7 months before finding out the rematch wasn't going to happen. That's on Errol, not on Bud. Do you know what a rematch clause is and what it means???. Bud couldn't move on until he found out the rematch wasn't happening

I usually cheer for de la Hoya, but some of his fights haven’t been 50/50 lately. They been set up fights for his fighters to win. Take Virgil. Virgil pulls out of 50/50 fights but always show up for the setup fights. He destroys but pulls out the 50/50 fights. It sucks because de la Hoya is a good promoter but he big ups his fighters even after they pull out of fights. He should’ve done that with Ryan.

@malotti2004 he didn’t catch at but that was mostly dude to Crawford’s speed on the counter and inside the pocket. He did slip and duck some punches but when he did Crawford either rabbit punched the cap out of him or got him on the second or third punch. You’re supposed to duck, slip, and counter, but Errol couldn’t get to the counter part because Crawford was throwing too fast. I thought the adjustment should have been for him to either try to punch WITH Crawford or just get out of the pocket completely. He seemed to just be caught in no man’s land. Speed aside and rabbit punches aside, sumn was wrong with Errol though.

Fake news. They didn’t split. Derrick James just did an interview with Cigar Talk and said he hasn’t spoke to Spence because he’s focused on his other fighters. And said he would recommend Spence take the Bud rematch at 154. Never mentioned anything about them splitting. Fake news.
