I'm from the 1990's and when crip walking first became popular, I remember you had to spell the word crip in cursive with one foot and you had to stomp the dot on the letter i at the end. Nowadays watching crip walking it just looks like they're moving their feet around however and not spelling anything.

@@NNAATTSS1915 I graduated from high school in 1977 in Los Angeles. The Crips went to school just as everyone else did. My minister parents kept me busy in church 6 days a week. Somehow this little church girl learned how to do the Crip walk along with my friends. As I do now I knew how to keep things in perspective. At school, if you mind your business you did just fine. As in so many trends, the dance was created by our culture and is borrowed by the world. But not before they put us down before they consume it. It was fun, although my parents would have whipped me good had they caught me doing the crip walk. It was all in fun. My grown children can't believe that I can do this dance. Now for all the naysayers, they should look into where most of the modern trends come from. Dance, music,fashion, style, "swag". They will be surprised. C walk is just one of many. Take care. To those that are disrespectful, please don't come for me. I am always mindful of how I speak to others, I usually don't comment but this topic needed it.
