Orvieto, elevation 325m is a hilltop city and comune in the Province of Terni, Umbria, situated on the flat summit of a large butte of volcanic tuff. From above, it's clear how the city rises above almost-vertical faces of tuff cliffs that are reinforced by defensive walls.
