As you may be able to tell, there is no discount coupon in the description of the video. I am sorry to say that this was now not possible due to some past error with coupons for this machine. However I did leave a link to gearbest where this laser is on sale for only $250 which is the BEST deal for the 20W version. Again I’m sorry there is no discount but definitely check out that other link:)

Great job on your videos! You have a way of explaining that makes learning easy. I have the 15W small LM and it's a beast! I love it so much, I just bought the LM2 20W with the rotary attachment. Thanks! Just ordered one. I had been on the fence, looking and weighing options. Once it shows up I'll build a box for it with an exhaust fan as I'll be using it inside. I used to work for a die shop where we had several lasers that cut 5/8" Baltic birch plywood and 1/8" steel plate. I would love to have something like that for making stuff but cost is always an issue. Thought about one of those 50watt CO2 lasers and doing some custom travel mug/water bottle engraving for local school's sports teams that they could maybe use as a fundraiser but I think I'll have to show my wife that I can do something with something small and less expensive first. Plus, you know, the Chinese flu. Your review pushed me over the edge because it will cut a good size and looks like it will do a good job for what I have planed. I would like to build a model of the Enterprise bridge from the original series. I've been working on 3D printing pieces but it takes so long to print the parts. Thanks again!!

@@TimberWood.Customs Ya know, it all boils down to politics and poor hygiene in China. Their official stance is that they have beaten the flu bug so doctors are punished if they report that someone has it which means people go untreated and it spreads and it becomes a bigger problem for them which means they shut down cities people can't get into work and things can't get out so depending on the city where something is coming from there can be problems and it looks like this is just one of those things.

Thanks so much for the great review. I have a question I was hoping you could answer for me. I’d mostly be engraving on cutting boards but sometimes the cutting boards I make are slightly larger than the Ortur frame. Is it possible to engrave on larger objects by placing the Ortur legs on some blocks of wood to raise it up and then sliding the large cutting board underneath of the raised Ortur? I hope that makes sense. I appreciate your help!
@TimberWood.Customs

Yes! I have done larger objects on my ortur when I had its original Frame on it. I just had to raise it up a little by putting a block under each leg making sure they Were all the same height and then I just put the piece of wood underneath it. Now I did do some engraving on a piece of wood that was almost exactly the same size as the frame so with that I just set the actual laser frame on top of the wood and centered it as best as I could. Have you ever use this laser to engrave on Leather

It means your laser will stop working or start putting out lower power then normal. And I know no one who needs 100%, you can always slow it down and add more passes I’m not sure how long they last and I’m not sure if u can get the exact ortur laser for replacement but there are other brands like neje and they are around $115

The software they supply with it is PC/MAC only. There is no linux available. If you were to run a different software then maybe you could use a Raspberry pi. There is a windows software for the Pi but you would want to use the raspberry PI 4 as you would need the CPU power it has. Then you can use that just like most 3d printers do to control it remotely. Windows can be remotely controlled using the built in app or any other software. However this is a lot of work and takes time to get it working properly.

It’s in my office/shop area. I mention what I do for air circulation stuff in my next video which talks about me making this a larger machine if you want to check that out
I ran my laser at 200/60% with 8 passes and cant cut through 3mm plywood. What could I be doing wrong? i ran it at 50/50 and 75/50 and it just wont cut through.

Make sure you changed the height of the laser when changing material thicknesses. It may not be for used which is not allowing it to work.

@@TimberWood.Customs I guess that's another problem I'm having. My laser doesn't drop low enough the touch the metal thing to focus it. I might just need to take it apart? Maybe?

@@keshonnadavis-graham2509 yes take it apart and make sure the slider part is screwed to the second to last set of screws from the bottom, I had to do that
Thanks for the video. What is the thickness of your wood, please?

It is 3mm craft ply wood. I left the setting I used in the Discription for you too:)

@@TimberWood.Customs Oh, goodness. Forgive me for missing that information in the description. I was hoping it was 3mm, because I have tons of that thickness. 🙂
