Why did it work the first time I used it? It didn't need any simple tricks like gravity to feed the line. These things seem to work once and then take a shit. The only way that it's worked was to hold the bottle upside down. It comes out strong then, but it leaks from the cap. So if that's the case, then that means there's a hole in the cap somewhere and so it can't create a vacuum to pull the stuff through the line. Finally have had enough so I emptied a bottle of Febreeze, washed it out, then poured the stuff in there. I don't know how many bugs it's killed, but it comes out no problem.

I totally agree works the first time than after that it doesn't. Waste of money. I believe it is a error in the manufacturer of the wand and container.

Right! Mines worked the first time and now it doesn't. This trick didn't work.

I tried it and it did not work. I will never buy this product again. The same wand was working a month ago. All three areas were opened I elevated the container over the wand which I never did before (and it's heavy since it's nearly full) and it didn't work ..also no kinks.

The fix did not work for me. This product sprayer is crappy! There are comments all over the web. I've emailed ortho directly to see how to resolve this. If I remove the sprayer connection and put it in clear water it sprays fine-no gravity feed needed. 😞

That worked for my dad last year. It was with 2 different brands

Cool! May i ask how long has it been sitting? Becuz mine sat for a long while, and it didnt want to spray right off the jump, it took a while for it to start back spraying.. and make sure its not crimped on the hose right where the wand folds.. if it is crimped right there, then u may have to unfold the wand about half way instead of fully extended.. its safe to say that this ortho home defense could have been better designed

@@melatonemelodies9582 It was prolly only sitting for 1 month. I recently got it and used it once before and wanted to reapply after it rained. Just stopped working. I figured it out though. There was a fix video online that said not to push the connector all the way into the cap... of course that was the fix. push it all the way down!!

I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!! take the lid off and remove the wand hose from the lid, then put the wand hose direct into the fluid. i always wear gloves when dealing with chemicals like these, so put some on. the lid is the failure point, don’t know why but I can at least use the thing how it was designed to be used. maybe they’ll fix it

**REAL FIX!** 1. Unscrew the cap from the bottle. 2. The plastic transparent hose is connected to the inner cap's protruding plastic piece, which I will refer to as a "spigot." 3. Reattach the hose to the inner cap's spigot. 4. Take duct tape (or similar material) and tightly wrap it around the hose and the inner cap's spigot. **FIXED!** No matter how many times I reattached the hose, it barely drew up water. Then I submerged the cap in water without the hose, and it worked in seconds. Apparently, there is a gap of air that seeps through, preventing it from gaining enough pressure to make the water flow. With the right tightening tape, it will never break again. It works great now! Man where were these instructions when I needed them?

Sprayer won't dispense

This products and most weed killers that use this type of battery operated sprayer are crap, take a look and see where they have a really poor design as the hose pinches halfway closed where the handle folds open when it's fully extended, the idiot engineer who designed these needs to be forced to use the product for hours on end until he gets frustrated likewise and loses it like everyone else.

No it doesn't. What a joke what a waste of money. I bought 2 gallons. Both failed. I called the company the number on bottle, gave them all kinds of hell for a rip-off product. They sent my money back. Both gallons. I had to dig up the old trigger pump style. This year I went to slide to buy another battery powered sprayer. Same problem. I'm going to keep calling them. Everybody needs to call them. Maybe they'll get off their butts when they have to send so much money back. Total inferior design. And yet they still are putting them out. Good product but you failed at the pump sprayer ortho. Be sure to keep a trigger style manual sprayer, so you can finish the job.

Dang that sucks. Yes i bought 2 aswell, and they both stopped spraying, the first one that stopped spraying was sitting for a long time before i went back to try to get it working.. when i did the gravity thing, it still didnt work for a while, i think the product inside had coagulated or somethin.. i tried raising the bottle up 3 different times, and it FINALLY started working.. did you have yours sitting for a long time before you tried elevating the bottle?

@@melatonemelodies9582 That's how mine is right now 🤣 Just out of curiosity did you remember to set the nozzle and regulator on the jug to 'Off'? Because I forgot. I'm assuming that's why it dried out, but I'm curious if it could have been prevented had I stored it properly.

@@ThatTallBrendan Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes I had shut it off every way possible. I come to the conclusion that the top inside underneath the cap area it somehow getting air. I laid the container on its side and it started spraying again. But I turned it up said it upright and it would quit spraying again so I think it has something to do with the tube connection under the cap area.

I had resorted to 'Dumping it into a spray bottle while it leaks all over the place and down the side of the damn jug so I'm doing it over the bathtub and it's _REALLY F•CKING PISSING ME OFF'_ but you know what, we got it.. we have reapplied the barrier.. and I am now.. ~At peace~ like that scene at the very end of King Fu Panda I am simply.. ~at peace~

How long has it been sitting.. it took a while for mine to start back working.. you may have to give it a few taps against something hard when you try using the trigger again

And make sure the little hose isnt crimped up right where the wand folds down. If it is you may have to use the wand while its slightly folded halfway
