This was very informative. I had used ORP measurement with Arduino to automate dissolving ozone in an aquarium. ORP measurement in an aquarium, especially if you've got it on an IOT setup, would also give you a pretty good indication if something has died and negatively affecting the water column such as increasing the ammonia levels.

As someone who just scored a $40 goodwill find of a 46 gal. tank, this is a GREAT idea. =) Can you share your arduino build or point me in the right direction?

@@das224 check for atlas scientific ezo orp circuit. its about 45usd. you might also need a carrier board as well. this gives digital readings, very easy to use.

for orp you need a proper probe as well. so it gets a bit expensive. i have a couple of ezo, ph, orp, ec. but now i only have ec on my aquariums.

@@Mr_ToR probably less expensive than dead fish and reconditioning a tank =) Why just the EC meter? Is it the least amount of probe while still giving you enough information?
