Oropharyngeal cancer was also found in 30-40% of patients who were not yet addicted to tobacco or alcohol.
There is a 90% chance that the patient was infected with the human papillomavirus.

Sir, cancer in oropharynx was detected in my younger brother (58) five months ago. The disease was moderately differentiated. We have been told good results through radio and chemotherapy. Immediately chemotherapy was started. After 3 chemos, disease progressed. Lymph nodes swelled. Endless headache symptom occurred. Then chemo and radiotherapy were started simultaneously. Till 13 July 2023 first phase 3 chemo + (3 chemo and 26 radiotherapy cycles) had been given. Then radiotherapy as well as chemotherapy was withheld due to neutropenia and ECG changes. He was kept in ICU for 3 days due to respiratory distress. Now again radiotherapy has been started. 10 radiotherapy cycles are advised but he has no relief in oral swallowing difficulty. We feed through ryles tube. What is in the best interest of the patient and family....
