As a Magic fan, I am against them trading WCJ at this point. For the price of his contract he is too valuable. After the KCP signing who of the 4 other starters would get benched to make room for who the Magic would get back from the Pelicans? Suggs, KCP, Franz, and Paolo are locked into the starting lineup in my opinion. To acquire a guy like Ingram, I think he would have to start. Carter over Moe or Goga in my opinion. Signing KCP I think killed any chances of them acquiring a starting player that would make a significant difference like a playmaking PG. Picks and a role player would probably be the best bet and I would rather keep him if that is the return.

WLC is our starting Center. Mo Wagner is an energetic rotation piece, but definitely not a starting NBA Center. Goga is quality depth but not a starter. A physical Center is the Magic’s only real need. WLC’s downside is that he gives inconsistent effort and is somewhat injury-prone, and is really more of a PF but whose shooting as a small ball Center can help space the floor.

I don’t wanna trade nobody else. Everyone that we currently have on the team is good and especially after hearing Dejonte Murray talk about how he wants to play with Brandon Ingram. I don’t think the pelicans are going to trade him now so if we’re not talking about draft picks only, I wouldn’t do it and just pick up some drafted rookies or veterans and call it a wrap.

Pelicans fan here. Knowing what I do about Griffin and the Pels I will tell you what Carter can fetch you from them. Hawkins isn’t going to happen. Brandon Ingram is a possibility, but I’m almost certain they are aiming higher for him. They would probably want another really good young player or a collection of good draft picks for that kind of swap. If the Pelicans are going to trade for Carter they are most likely dangling a single first round pick with some protections. Maybe they get desperate around the middle of the season when all other options fail. Then you might be able to pry a little more from them. Knowing Griffin, I would say the chances of all else failing is pretty good, but he almost certainly will fail before you guys get swoop in and reap the benefits. It will likely be an earlier team who gets to swindle one on Griffin first before you guys ever get to pick at his bones. He’s a terrible GM.

With the contracts to Goga and and Moe I think it's pretty clear they have two established centers for the next two years. Isaac can also play the 4 or 5 depending the lineup. I think they value Goga as he does not demand the ball and is not the scoring threat that WCJ is. That onus should be taken on by PB, FW, JS and KCP. Moe is perfect as the center for the second unit and is a bigger scoring threat. Point is, I think Carter Jr. is inevitably gone and I hope they add shooting depth particularly at guard if possible.
