Orlando Florida... Nothing will be the same
In 2025 we will see a significant amount of changes to the city of Orlando. In the episode, we are covering a build of the projects that will impact the city. Some of the projects include the Orlando Magic Sports and Entertainment District, Epic Universe by Universal Studios, I Drive projects, health towers, and new developments. The city of Orlando has been one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation over the last couple of years. And it's these types of things that have been drawing people to the city.

@@gusrod1896I’ve been 3 times for Disney universal but also bc family moved there during war like 30 years ago. I still live in Europe, and I’m glad lol. I love Florida so much, but it’s just so expensive, so last time we stayed in a very cheap but great motel on International drive and used the very limited public transport. It was slow, and not very frequent. But it was also surprisingly enjoyable. Just shows how Orlando should really improve its transit, bc it’s enjoyable now but could be so so much better!! The highways had traffic etc but it was not much! 😊😊 I did almost get ran over about 20 times due to right on red laws which is ridiculous to be honest. Very dangerous, but I just had to be extra cautious. Overall, I love Florida so much and hope to visit US east coast again soon! ❤❤

I lived in Jax from 2000-2011, moved home to Colorado from 2011-2021, then came back to Jax 2021-2022. I now live in Flagler County, to be in a quieter area. They were talking about that rail 20 years ago, as well as a few of these other ideas, so who knows. I think 2009 shut a lot down, but with the boom these days, maybe they’ll come to fruition. I don’t care if the growth there continues, as long as jobs, housing, and additional areas/parks for people to spread out also happens. Epic will definitely help thin out the visitors, thankfully. I don’t know how much you enjoy the outdoors in general, but I highly recommend you get a state park pass, and visit as many as you can. I'm a 40+ year resident of central Florida and all this just looks to me like more development which equals more traffic and congestion in general so no matter what the propaganda says, it is just more shiny dressed up promises that will fall short and begin to fail almost immediately. Just take a look around central Florida and see all the abandoned shopping malls and vacant strip malls it is everywhere that once had an exciting start with the idea that it would be high end but falls short, way short. Out of this whole sales pitch the only thing interesting is the prospect of the train system because that has the potential to help alleviate the awful traffic situation and the mess on I-4 and driving in Florida roads SUCKS and is only getting worse over time. Try driving through Oviedo during rush hour, I don't know how people do it day after day...

As an Orlando native, it is really exciting to see the growth that is occurring right in front of our eyes. Orlando has been slept on for so many years. Now it is our time to finally shine. I see a lot of folks complaining about traffic and infrastructure. I agree, the traffic is inconvenient, to say the least. The city planners did not see the full potential of what Orlando could be when they designed the infrastructure. To be fair, all major and up-and-coming cities have traffic issues. Vacationing here and living here is two very different things. I’m not saying there aren’t nice places like Lake Nona, but you have to be wealthy to own a home there. We have never ever seen any City or County workers picking up the trash that is thrown everywhere!!! The City of Orlando is run down, and not many take care of anything. I would’ve never moved here if I knew Orlando was so run down and trashy. Our community we live in is very clean and taken care of, but that is rare. So far according to MetroPlan Orlando a lot of the roads such as Orange, Colonial, Semoran, Kirkman, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head are looking to get BRT projects. There is also a plan to put a streetcar in International Drive as well. Aside from the Sunshine Corridor there's the Apopka and Polk extension. If Orlando and Orange County can focus on getting those done soon and not get hampered by the NIMBYs then Orlando will be a much better city.

Great video, well done. Id like to add… Over the last decade Orlando and surrounding sub markets have been planning for the projected growth, with plenty of folks still moving from the West Coast and North East. Today Central FL has newly extended quality highways, new connector roads, new and improved public transportation including sun rail and bright line. Highways and interstate roads like I-4 with dedicated through lanes. I moved here 8 years ago from up north. I saw what was going to become of this beautiful city. So glad to see it happen. Downtown UCF area looked nothing like it does now. Slowly restoring the Lake Dot area.
My sister lived in greater Orlando for 18 years, loved the first five years of it ,couldn’t stand the last five due to the crowding, crazy insurance , and auto insurance rates, and the general mode of the people anymore. She said she doesn’t like having her right to choose taken away from her, told what she can read, what she can say, and what she can learn. She packed it up and moved back to Michigan , said it was the best thing she’s ever done, the Orlando that she knew doesn’t exist, and has no interest in the future one.
As a new resident (sorry locals who hate me) its refreshing to see a positive outlook to growth. Now, International drive North of Sand Lake Rd needs some serious help. Its like crossing over into an entire new town compared to the south. Where is stadium club going? Plus, I think Universal City Walk has a massive problem coming, it already has crowding problems from Islands and Studios, i can't imagine how much more packed its going to be when Epic opens.

Altamont Mall was a cow pasture, and I Drive didn't exist. They ran a contest on the radio to come up with a slogan to move the town I mean city forward. "Oh Orlando!" Was the winning one. God knows if they still use it? I couldn't wait to leave. Now I only go b😢ack Occasionally for business. All these new changes coming, we'll see. I'm not impressed yet. having been able to live in Florida for just one year, I can still confidently say that out of the south-eastern states, Florida would benefit probably the most from scheduled, state-wide, reliable passenger "subway" System. The tourism aspect alone; the amount of families that live within just a state away that don't have proper transportation could EASILY have an overnight trip to Orlando. Or if someone that doesn't have their own vehicle in the middle of the state just wants to get to the beach quickly versus having to try and find a ride (not to mention traffic)

Even in Tampa the last 6 years the city has changed a lot. Tampa was dead quiet at night and now there is a busy night life and ppl everywhere. They put a lot of living space there and tried to make everything walkable. That’s all in 6 years and they have a ton planned still I used to think a speed train was stupid but that was before Uber. I wish Scott wouldn’t have rejected the federal money for it. We need a speed rail from Tampa to Orlando and up and down the coast -we need a rail to go across alligator alley and up that coast. Nowadays you could just hop on it go where you want fast and get an u er or rental car. I would do hat 2x a month if that was built. As we all know the traffic has gotten insane over last 4years and DeSantis does have tons of highway projects all set -there is one huge one that just opens by me and a huge one just started by my house. I wish we could have this guy another q0 years because what ppl don’t know is he is bringing in huge business but yet just being picky so we don’t end up with blue haired crazy ppl. The blue haired ppl that i know here are not crazy. But the guy is brilliant on the laws he’s making to that stops the crazies from wanting to come here and he’s attracking serious business even some from Japan and other countries. You can feel the tech world slowly building her but he’s not letting the fruit cakes in. I have a ton of family in tech and they say it’s growing here and they are all red not blue so ppl have to understand not all tech ppl are blue crazies and some are blue and level headed like it used to be. The bullet trains are key tho. Those need to get started for this state to work properly and then you can live somewhere quiet or cheaper and hop on a bullet train and work somewhere else. Or take of for another city or town for the weekend and not deal with traffic. It’s exciting to see Tampa changing and being a night time livable city and to see Orlando updating the look and kid and adult entertainment-they do have very unique stuff there that i like to do and it looks like they are taking that to a new level. We just have to hope the next governor doesn’t destroy it as it’s being created by letting in too much dirty evil money-it will ruin us and we will be the NY of the South and I’m a born and raised NYer who’s proud but it got destroyed from when i was a kid and crime was bad then but crime isn’t the worst problem there-there’s to many to list. They have a way of taking your NY pride and making you defend the crazy stuff they do. My own family is now brainwashed and most are Red but yet let blue brainwash them. They can’t see it. They had such a hard time getting guns legally that now they don’t want anyone having guns-it’s crazy how they let the brainwashing take away their rights and money. Ppl just can’t take stress and surrender their soul and then defend their state. It’s not about the state-it’s about the politicians, anyway Florida is growing very fast and ppl who think it’s fake it’s not -DeSantis has all this setup for years after he’s gone and has the laws to try and protect us. But the traffic needs fixing. The train needs built fast and that will free up alot of roads.
I wish I moved here sooner and got settled before 99% of the US population decided to move here too. Now it’s been a struggle to even get a 1 bedroom apartment within a 100 mile radius of Orlando for under $1500. Especially When Florida thinks “competitive wages” are at $18/hr. Which is still like 55% of your income just for base rent.

There is always the natural hesitation. I’m sure there was a reasonable reason why you didn’t make that move sooner. There will always be that reasonable reason. Check out some of the growing suburbs. There are some places that will boom and now could e the time.

Thanks for the love 💪🏽
A lot of good here, I'm surprised you didn't cover Society Orlando. I think people also underestimate how impactful ucf is on Orlandos economy. Ucf should get its own lynx station like the one downtown
Florida building everything but public transit
I’m with Lifeline. We need that especially Florida. I can see it grossing from coast to coast . North to south. Less people on roads more people safe. It doesn’t mean that people are going to buy less car, but we can inhabit more People.
Sounds great , new developments for jobs and entertainment. The living and housing cost sounds pretty terrible. I was pretty set on moving to Orlando in 2020 but the rise in home insurance seems like a huge issue. Isn’t car insurance crazy high too now?
I grew up and still live in the burbs west of Orlando and have seen so much change over 20+ years. Some parts of Orlando are no longer recognizable, that's how much they've changed. The main issue here is the horrendous traffic problems pretty much anywhere you go. Adding new business and residential communities don't help any at all: you first need to deal with the infrastructure here that cannot handle those kinds of loads, such as roads, public transportation, education, and utilities. While I think growth is a good thing, I think Orlando's growing way too fast and is slowly losing the ability to keep up. At some point the mayor's gotta say "no more room, inn is full".

Finding that right suburb is the sweet spot
I have actually been doing ecological work on Wellness Way for years. Never realized how big it was!
This is amazing but I really wish Orlando would focus more on affordable housing. While there are a lot of developments going up the amount of apartments going up because people can't afford to get a house is absolutely crazy. But I am most excited for epic universe

More supply to catch up to demand. More homes = more competition = price adjustment 📉…. Also more apartments = less buyers = price adjustment 📉… more of everything would help. But then ppl will complain about traffic. My head hurts 😖
What the heck give me a brightline from Tampa to Orlando so I don't need to drive on I-4, a very dangerous road, to get to Orlando

Yeah it's to bad when I lived there in the 80s all the beautiful orange groves have been destroyed and all the local ponds ...it's a shame what is going on down there
Good to see Orland keep developing and growing

There is a rumor that United Airlines could open a hub in Florida too. If Orlando International Airport expands, it is possible.

@Christianclay Please do. Would be nice to have more competition and access to the Caribbean from Florida.

There are some areas that are in reasonable distance to the “city” yet very affordable.
You know it's not the same as it was, in this world. You know it's not the same as it was, in this world. -Harry Styles.
How did you skip Edge Tower downtown Orlando. It's under construction and going to be 32 stories.
If you live in Orlando, you’re not excited about going to I-Drive
Pine Hills , beautiful areas of Orlando , go visit
What company or companies will be making chips in Neo City?
Amway Center no more! It's now called the Kia Ctr
Can they just fix I4 and all the garbage traffic? That’s all I need
10:28 Is anyone building a walkable community where I can walk from the house to shop? Or is everything focused on driving everywhere?

There are a few areas that are walkable. It definitely comes at a price.
I find it odd that developers never really built on the tract right on Kirkman & Arnold Palmer Dr
Orlando is already full✅️
Are they gonna make more parking in downtown? Cause that ish is ridiculous at the moment.
Can we just get some help on I-4 between exit 45 and 62. I despise that drive
Hi Christian, what about Ocala FL? I’ve heard a lot about it
There’s nine new restaurants coming to Orlando to make a living. Tijuana Flats announced the other day that they are closing down their non-revenue producing locations effective immediately. New owners of the chain took over and they are cleaning house.

They are having a year!
Wait a minute...All that new construction yet, what about that EyeSore on I-4 ?
how about a mass rapid transit network with 15 minute cities at the stations? actually urban planning and not just a bunch of random buildings wherever the developers find the place to do it
Do a space coast/Brevard county one

That would be a good one. Brevard has been surprisingly one of the top growing counties as of late.

We really need that many roads through an urban area. Something is wrong with the urban planning in this country
