FIFA's been trialling ref announcements for a year or two, so it's probably coming to other leagues, too. It's designed to let the fans in the stadium know what the review was about, since they don't have replays and commentators with access to the VAR feed.

MLS please get better refs bro💀I was there in person and every dang time Orlando got close to the goal,the ref always came up with random bullcrap to stop the play so Orlando can’t score.Also,when Columbus had subsitutions and Orlando had the ball,the ref would stop the game,but oh when Columbus had the ball and it’s a substitution the ref lets the game keep going while they do subs.Why would the ref give a penalty to Columbus when Orlando should have gotten a pen💀These refs bro💀

LOL. Marrufo is a 16-year FIFA and 2018 World Cup referee, but 'chubby' has ?? VAR correctly waited for the dead ball to recommend a review for the Columbus PK, which negated the Orlando penalty. Are MLS refs perfect? Of course not, but they are very good.

It was legit. No doubt the home team didn’t want to show it on the screen but it was a legit foul in the columbus attacking pen area. Ref missed it. Had to wait until next stoppage to correct the error

There's literally no way Orlando got a Penalty, but then Referee decided to give Orlando No penalty, BUT THEN Columbus the Penalty instead of Orlando after 5 minutes have already played before hand! Worst Call I ever seen!

The amount of time doesnt matter, var can’t step in until the next dead ball. It was also the correct call. Crew were fouled and if it were called, Orlando would not have had the attacking phase.

The talent they had/have at Crew 2 vs what Nancy develops, better yet, develops is an anomaly. Kudos to Crew management for not fucking it up, but YIKES as to what could have been had they focused on development. The team is sick, but they could have been way cheaper had they promoted from within.
