@@FalconHamburg Liebherr has chosen that subcontractor (Ropeblock). You can't shift responsibility whenever you want. If that was a material failure, why the design has change? (Bigger nut below the hook)

@@SuperJohn626 The reason for the damage of the crane was not the hook, it was the massive tilting of the ship after the sudden load drop.

You can see that they modified the crane tower - now it has some pretty massive stops to hold the crane boom from going over vertical. Lesson learned, I guess.
