@@ikkaku65 They HAVE to get a quality starting pitcher at the trade deadline or else they'll fall short again. They still might get into postseason but they'll exit early without that additional quality SP.

I'm being dead serious in this comment. I remember that dark August night in 2007, and we were annihilated in baseball terms. Against a team that later went on to win the World Series last year. Now I see us, we're legitimately World Series championship contenders. It's unbelievable the turnaround we've had, and I'm grateful to this organization that made this so fun to watch and follow notifications to. I'm from Baltimore, Maryland, a lifelong Orioles fan, born and raised, and it's beautiful to see a baseball club win consistently with title hopes. Thanks, Orioles. Y'all are making the whole city proud.

Started hating them in the '70's when they were such a problem for my Bosox - and everyone else except the Buckos😊... But they sure won my respect and the last couple of years are the most magical Team in MLB! It hurts to say it but thy're WS before my Sox - they feel ripe!!

So well said. I remember those glory days of the 70's and 80's from my childhood and the Orioles were always top tier and playoff candidates, and 83 World Series winners. Then we hit those dark days when we were finished before it even started, giving up MLB records, goof on the roof, and being pounded and losing and were the laughing stock of the majors. It's just nice to see this team back. Yeah, last year sucked, one and out but for a team which was if I'm correct had over a 100 loses the year before and to come back and win the division and go into the playoff is incredible!!! Sorry, I'm rambling, but "Aint the beer a little colder now" with all do respects to Chuck!!

We were being made fun of by ESPN, MLB Network, TSN (the ESPN of Canada), and everyone who knows baseball. I'm just proud to see the progress and the competitive nature of this team from then to now. Like, we lost 3 pitchers for the season and our ace is recovering, all from Tommy John surgery, and we're still winning. It's magic.

@@JoelDJohnson1986 its all good, were 7 and 3 in our last 10, best record in our league, I know, current standings. Yeah we got pounded 19 runs, but who cares , we took 2 out 3 from them and the mariners, two good teams! My old Oriole friend and even more baseball sage always told me you ain't gonna win every game, gonna go on losing streaks, and yes get shelled on a crazy day. But if you can keep 7 outa 10 or even 6 out of 4 all year long. Even we can keep our win and loss percentage close to what we have now, its 100 games. I hate to say it but this is a game of injuries, knock on wood our pitching been hit but I think we can go forward with this offense and the help our pros in the front office to boost our starters, were gonna be there! All that matters, is GO O'S, so good to say!

6 O’s players got snubbed. Crazy. At least one Orioles infielder other than Henderson should’ve made it. Plus, Kimbrel and Rodriguez were both snubbed as pitchers. Westburg, Mountcastle, Santander, Rodriguez, Kimbrel, and O’Hearn should all be the first reserve for their respective positions.

Very nice. If Grayson continues his form all season then he could easily win the cy young. He is a stud!

If Derrick Henry can stay healthy and has some gas left in the tank I'm VERY excited to see how Lamar works with him--the Ravens offense could be off the CHARTS!!

Darn near the best game managed by Hyde this season with the only slight being that Cowser was on the bench, but the lineup shuffle with Mountcastle, absolutely love it. I love Mounty, but this is baseball and if you’re struggling for this long you can’t be in the 3-4 spot of the lineup and it paid dividends today in a major way. Then letting Grayson go out for the 7th, absolutely love it. Can’t believe how unlucky the 7th was for him. Those two weak ground balls for basehits, the wild pitch and then that error by Gunnar charging Grayson with a second run after unreal pitching from Webb in that situation(1st & 3rd 0 out). Just super unlucky. The next time we have a 4+ run lead in a game, I would really like to see this team try to manufacture runs. Lead off double followed by a bunt and an out for a run, lead off walk followed by a steal and then a bunt and an out for a run. Even bunting for a hit, or bunting a lead off walk to scoring position followed by a base hit to the right side of the field. Some hit and run action. We are comfortable, we would be a lot more comfortable if we knew we could turn the smallest things into a run or runs in big game situations and big game pitchers on the mound with their best stuff. Elias is scouring the league to trade for pitching in the rotation and bullpen, the offense is the best in baseball, so while he’s working on that why don’t we work on this? It can only help, no risk associated whatsoever.

I think we just have so much power all through the lineup (leading mlb in runs and homers and percentage of runs scored by homers) that it makes more sense to keep guys working on swinging for the fences ESPECIALLY when there are men on base. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it

As a Sacramento native I am excited to see the A’s come stink up the joint for a year in my hometown.

Every team has to be represented that’s why Other Orioles players didn’t get chosen !! They fill the roster with guys from other teams who may not be as good but they are picked so that all teams have at least 1 player on the team !!

Tyler Anderson!! SP for the LAA!! That’s who the O’s should trade for!! He will come way cheaper, he would be a great #3 starter with the year he’s having, and this isn’t the first time he’s done this. He was an All star with the dodgers in 2022 with a 2.57 ERA in 28 starts/178.2IP. The O’s could catch the lightning in a bottle rental situation they’re looking for if he’s able to maintain the numbers through a trade transition, but that question mark will contribute to that cheaper price tag. Even if he doesn’t prevail at a 2 and a half ERA, worst case scenario, realistically is a 4.5 ERA and we will win most games on 4 runs or less given up. This gives us the space to definitely get Mason Miller which further assists our ability to win a game on 4 runs or less so you’d have a reliable #5/big lead long reliever and Suarez would be your guy for October in the #4 slot. The way Grayson and Kremer are pitching I am a lot less worried about our rotation in October than other people as long as we sure up the bullpen, but especially because of this lineup. But if a deal can’t be made for a Jack Flaherty/Garrett Crochet after we pick up Mason Miller without using our big guys like Kjerstad, Mayo, Holliday, Basallo, etc. then I think Tyler Anderson is a great option. I think he’s gonna pitch this well all year, whatever he found with the Dodgers and lost with the Giants he’s found it again, and I think it will hold up all year, maybe more and he’s under control till 2026. Could probably even get LA to eat some of his contract. Bradfield Jr, Beavers for Miller, Stowers for Anderson. Keep Norby and Mayo, send them up and Urias and Mateo down. Perfect swap. Gain homerun power, clubhouse moral boost, experience to your youth. Sacrifice some defense and some speed on a team that you’ve shown no interest whatsoever in any form of small ball in anyway. Could be another 25+ homers in the bottom of the lineup over the last 70 games. Call up Basallo for McCann once you’re sure it won’t take away his rookie status so he can put on a show in a limited role and earn a spot on the big league club for next year and bring out Holliday and Basallo on Opening Day. Murderer’s Row Lineup 3-4-5-6 Holliday, Westburg, Rutsch, Gunnar, Basallo, Kjerstad, Mayo, Santander, Cowser L/S/L/S/L/R/L/R/L HollidayLF, RutschC/DH, GunnarSS, Santander1B, KjerstadRF, Mayo3B/2B, BasalloDH/C, Westburg2B/3B, CowserCF | Bench: O’HearnDH/1B/RF, Mountcastle1B/DH, MullinsCF/PR, Norby2B/LF/DH That’s one scenario, but if everything goes well with the front office and the players, this is your team 5+ years from now when Mounty, Mullins, O’Hearn and Santander are towards the end of their back nine with Basallo or Rutsch going to first eventually. Norby is your super utility, great bat off the bench, O’Hearn is your steady RHP DH and pinch hitter, Mounty and Mullins are great defensive installments and above average pinch hitters, plus speed off the bench from Ced. Gotta get Holliday to transition to the outfield. He can make up for arm strength with outfield athleticism, and he’s still young, his arm will get stronger. He’d be like a center fielder in left so we don’t feel any loss moving Cowser to center eventually.

Povich had his worst game, not there yet to be starter at MLB level yet. Tate was put in, but he’s more a reliever for certain matchups. Irvin is in a big slump, but couldn’t even give mid relief. I think Povich maybe gets one more start before being sent down again. Have to somehow get Irvin’s confidence back so he can be reinserted in the starting rotation again. At some point O’s might have to acquire another starter.

@@jaynesemurfin5621 Well he was called up into the starting rotation because Irvin is in a major slump, while they lost Means/Wells for the season. So who do they put in the starting rotation if Povich is sent down? Irvin or whom else? Irwin needs to pitch a couple scoreless innings of middle relief per insertion in a game to get some confidence back.
