I don't believe Irvin has options left, so he would have to be DFA'd and quite possibly would be claimed and lost for good. He is going to stay on the roster this year if he is healthy. Just might be moved to the bullpen.

@@johndavies5582 Definitely need to go get a starter and bullpen arm at the deadline. And for 2025 I'd like the starter to be more than a rental and then have the new O's ownership make the big splash and resign Burnes.

Every time I watch Irvin pitch I think “how tf does this guy get anyone out?” He proves me wrong at times but not at all last year and only spurts this year.

Thoughts on trading a veteran bat like Mountcastle with prospects in the Fabian or Beavers tier to a more competitive team like the Mariners for someone like a Luis Castillo? The Mariners have a really good pitching staff but need more help offensively and this might be the way to get a real number 3 guy without giving up a guy like Mayo, Kjerstad or a Basallo. Even allows Mayo to come up and play 1st in the bigs

Do you really think Suarez goes to the bullpen rather than Irvin who has gotten crushed in his last 4 starts? I'm not sure if he belongs in the big league as a starter at this point. Even half of his outs are loud outs.

If Tigers decide to put Skubal up for trade, give us a a proposed trade for the Os to snag him.

O's fan here, living in Michigan. The Tiger's offense is " Toothless ". They HAVE TO BE open to the idea of trading him at the very least. As long as the O's retain their heavy hitters in the scouting department ( Elias foremost) I'm confident they'll keep the farm well stocked. That said.....to get Skubel, some of our most talented prospects will have to go. But hey.....that's the problem you wanna have right?? Go O's !!!

Question is what kind of pitching can we acquire down the stretch.. but it's always been like that as a O's fan

There is such a wide range of predictions for who the O’s gonna take from Tommy White from LSU to Brecht from Iowa, or even one of the prep SS’s. Who you think the O’s and Elias go after?

Mailbag Question for you Connor: Who do you think the O’s will dangle for any trades for pitchers at the deadline? Norby, Stowers, Mayo, or some other prospects? Or will they possibly deal a vet like Urias or even 😢Hays? Also, do you think that McDermott will get the call up at some point to pitch? Rubenstien is in a honeymoon phase right now but he needs to allow Elias to do whatever he wants….unfortunately due to injuries and just regression from the arms…it appears Elias has to deplete the farm or just not get enough at the deadline….if you plan to sign Burnes you don’t have to go all in for the World Series this year

Unfortunately on Friday I had to turn the show off because of your decision to get away from the topic of the podcast and delve into something that has absolutely no place in baseball or sports. You do a great job with the Orioles and the game and have enjoyed your commentary for the last two seasons. In fairness though, people were getting all butt hurt about Pride night and getting on some “it’s my team, I was here first” type of stuff. Not saying you’re wrong, but it’s gotta cut both ways and Connor was only reacting to some very vocal antagonists against the Pride Night stuff.

This was an improvement according to Irvin: Irvin on trying to improve: “By no means am I trying to back away from what has been going on. I am trying to find an adjustment, make an adjustment to where I was good earlier in the season. It’s there, it’s close. Not far off."
