@Krystine Brown Ironically, Derek was less shallow than he made himself sound at that moment. Derek knew Odette had changed in more ways than just physically... The reason he hadn't speculated on what changed about her internally is (probably) because he assumed that chemistry means nothing could go wrong. Here's the *real* lesson Derek learned: "Just because there's an instant chemistry DOESN'T mean you two are necessarily right for each other."

Despite the flaws of the movie's plot, I still love this movie. I really enjoy the songs and the characters are fun, Odette is like the only princess who calls the Prince's out 'Is Beauty all that matter to you?!" Like questioning him about it while they were growing up. Sadly the original voice actress of Odette had pass away and I really wish to hear her take of Odette. May she rest in peace.

@@Elizannchan I saw him in 2001, right after 9/11. I think it was some time in October. I was 10 years old, and my parents took me to see Phantom of the Opera - my first Broadway play. The next night, we went to see the Broadway production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. We should have seen Les Miserables instead. I only saw Les Miserables around 2006 in D.C.

The Swan Princess and Balto were 2 of my most watched non-Disney movies as a kid. I have so many memories of sitting on my mom's bed using her TINY screen tv and VCR combo on her dresser. Pretty sure I got red jello on her bed while watching too. GOOD TIMES!

The Swan princess cost 20 million and grossed only 9 million ,Walt Disney`s Cinderella ( 1950 ) cost 2 million and grossed more than 300 million dollars

Cannot believe it’s been 25 years! The last time I saw the movie was as a high school junior nearly a decade ago. The first time was as a 2 year old in the Christmas season of 95 from Blockbuster as a double feature with Frosty the Snowman. The Swan Princess has some of the most lyrical animation I’ve ever seen. Far Longer Than Forever is my favorite song tied with Princesses on Parade!

I LOVED this movie as a kid and I was so incredibly in love with the song "Far Longer Than Forever" I make my husband duet it with me on occasion lol

his voice is genuinely one of my favorites of all time ❤️

I remembered that this was the very first princess movie I watch after immigrated to the U.S. I remembered watching this every day for weeks because the singing was so divine!

This was my favorite movie when I was a tween. I had it on VHS and watched it so much to the point where my mom actually took my tape and hid it at the top of the cupboard when we moved to our new apartment. I found it years later, and it was covered in dust and there was a dead roach in it. I ended up finding another Swan Princess VHS years later at a garage sale and played it on my VCR a few years later. I'm not a romantic person and find anything that's lovey-dovey to be kind of cheesy, but this movie will always hold a special place in my heart.

Howard McGillin is an absolute legend. I grew up with him in "The Swan Princess" and, when I was older, I got to see him as the Phantom in "The Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway. I met him after the show and he was one of the genuinely nicest people I've ever met. I'll always love him. You're awesome, Howard! Rock on!
