The absolute best Tetris theme. This song is so timelessly beautiful.

This song and game will always be my favorite from Nintendo. In the 90's, I always loved playing Tetris but kept dying in it and watching others play was almost as fun. My grandfather used to play Tetris a lot when I was a little girl and early this morning or last night, he died. 😢.

This theme was an anti-depressant for me growing up...I'd play Tetris and totally forget about the world for an hour. Plus, I'd get to level 14, 15, even 16 once because I'd pretty much zone out.

Well i am only 16 but i never played anything else than gameboy color, nes,snes, donkey kong ii gameboy or n64 until i was 14 so i basicly still grew up with those games. I initially played a remake called tetris dx on gameboy color but now on an emulator im trying that tetris. I already feel like old days. I started on lvl 18 i can say after an hpur i can survive little more than 2 minutes and hit a score of...well 3040 but one day ill be as good as jonas haha

I loved playing Tetris in the 80's, when I was a kid. This was the only music I played it to. As a matter of fact, my stepmom still has the Nintendo still hooked up in the living room. On the rare occasions I get to visit, I still play Tetris & Super Mario Brothers.

By far the best Tetris song I've ever heard, and yet, I can't find a single remix of it...

This was never used in a later game. When NES Tetris was remastered for the SNES in the Tetris and Dr. Mario bundle game, the NES ost was replaced by the superior Game Boy ost.

This song brings back memories of my childhood back in the late 80s. Heh! brings a tear to my eye because I can't go back in time.

I remember this game since the early 90's when I was about 7 or 8 yrs of age when I first hear this song on the nes. The nostalgia is strong in this game.

I used to listen to this song in my parents basement in the dark when I was about 3 years old. I remember it being one of the first “deep” experiences I had, haha.

All the tetris songs are good but this is actually a masterpiece

I was listening to Tetris music C, and was wondering why it didn’t sound right for a moment. Searched for the NES Tetris music and found the right video. This one.

This being back memories that my childhood I miss it so much!

This song always made me think of some happy and relaxed nerdy engineer, just tinkering with machines and doing calculations, which for him is zen. No idea why..

Ha! I used to loop this and Blaster Master (area 5 - the water level) in college when studying or doing homework. Not too loud, just soft background music to fill the silence. I've been a mechanical engineer for 20 years now.

This is timeless. It makes me think of something like a Gibhli film. An overgrown city with strange creatures inside

Sounds like a weird water stage Megaman theme sort of.

What the heck, absolutely an underrated and overshadowed masterpiece!

I loved this theme the best, man it brings back so many memories, what a great time period for gaming that was back then. It's funny how much those simple 8 bit games had such great memorable music. I had so much fun during the 8 & 16 bit eras. Thanks for posting this.

This was always my choice for Tetris. For some reason, I could always get the furthest in marathon when I choose this one. If one of the other two, I lose early. Psychological? Perhaps. This track doesn't seem to exist anywhere else but this version of the game. I wish they would port it to one of the other handheld devices like the DS or 3DS. After all, they ported the Gameboy version to the 3DS...why not this one as well?

I have this game and the NES to play it on, and every time I play it I HAVE TO listen to this track! I love this tune! Very relaxing and even a bit hypnotic. This song puts me in a sort of trance that makes me think of a snowstorm or a girl I had a crush on in high school (I'm only 18 guys). It's so peaceful and hypnotising!

Totally agree with your perspective. I remember a time when we had a super ice storm, but somehow our house didn't lose power, so i played Tetris on the NES. Now every time an ice storm occurs, I think of this, and it's rather peaceful.

There was a time back in 1998 when I played Tetris while I was high for a couple weeks, aways with Music 3. I figured out the pattern. Not long after that, I almost blew up the universe.

This was one of the best gameplay songs EVER! I used to feel like the Wizard deleting all those lines to this music!

When I was younger my grandma had an old Nintendo entertainment system this was probably like 2006 and I always chose this theme and then when I got my first MP3 player I downloaded the song and I’ve always gone sit outside during an overcast day and I just listen to it while drinking pop

You choose the music yourself. There's three options and this number three. One of the best video game music pieces ever created.

I bought the Game Boy on my birthday back in 1991 and it included Tetris, but I was disappointed to find that this track wasn't on the Game Boy version. But I like Track B in the Game Boy version

Because that song from the Game Boy version's ost fits the best with Tetris. You want to know the reason? Because it is a fricking Russian folk song based on a Russian poem by the same name... The name being "Korobeiniki"

The "other" Type C music (the Game Boy one) happens to be French Suite No 3 in B Minor, BWV 814 by Bach. And for being a simple, 4-channel chiptune rendition of Bach, I have to say that it was pretty damn impressive.

I know that music A is from The Nutcracker Suite, but never have I been able to figure out what this or music B is.

The best NES one. Yet I can't figure out how to replicate the melody's sound in Famitracker

I just played this the other day with this music theme playing. I set a personal best record. I got up to 168,000 points. Never could get that high when I was playing this as a kid. It gets so hard once you get to level 15 & 16. I don't think I've ever made it higher then those levels.
