I recently picked up the phone repair hobby for my family during Christmas. Since then I've done 6 repairs until I realized I have an old iPhone 5 (my first touch phone) that died because it wouldn't charge. I got a new battery and charger port for it. Man, was it worth it. All my old pics and videos that never got transferred to my next phone.

On the early smart phones, before they had a flash, you would download an app that could turn the screen white and full brightness. That was the flashlight

I still have my old iPhone 2G, he doesn’t mention how it was really the most ground breaking piece of tech in modern history. Apple taught samsung and every other phone manufacturer what a smart phone should be like with the first fully touch screen phone. Other manufacturers were still stuffing around with button layouts and black berry seemed to be the only one that could browse the internet in any decent capacity. I’m so glad to still own a piece of history, don’t think I’ll ever sell it, well maybe for the right price! 😁

This is a 5-month-old comment, also, phone batteries are TINY in comparison to what cheap Chinese phone companies do. Mi Max 2 5500mah (Cheap Chinese phone), iPhone 8 has 1,821 mAh or the considerably larger iPhone 8 Plus has 2,675 mAh. Bare in mind the Mi Max 2 costs $220 / £200 *incl taxes

Michael0100 Apple's one advantage is, they have great ram management. That is why their batteries with less mah, still manage to last quite well.

I really loved the size of the old iPhones.

I remember when my mum first bought the Samsung Galaxy XY, it was the first touchscreen phone we had, I always borrowed it from her and played the games that were already downloaded and 'zipped' so I would constantly 'delete' a game and choose from which six games I wanted to play and 'redownload' the game, then when I got bored I would switch again. After that the phone became my first reading tool when I discovered that you could read books the not-so-legal way online, I read A LOT from that phone, with the small screem I had to read in horizontal mode and the adults kept thinking I was playing games and that I should read a book. The pixels were also so small that I had to put it near my face so they thought I was really into gaming. The good old days

I agree with thicker phones. I also think that the camera bump needs to die. This leads to my personal opinion being that the entire phone should be as thick as the camera module, and fill out the rest of the space with battery.

I used one for over two years and never had any issues with it. Cases were limited at the time, I had a leather case with a big snap on it. Loved the headphone jack!
