Meiteis have never occupied nor ruled the Hills of the present Manipur. The Hill people have never been subjects of the Meitei kings. Rather, the Kuki chiefs simetimes helped the Meitei kings and saved them from outside forces. The Meitei Kings in return gave some lands inside their kingdom for the Kuki chiefs to live and so that they be safe from attacks by other tribes or community. However, the Kuki chiefs never ever gave their lands to the Meiteis. This is why the meiteis never ever lived in the kuki hills. Unfortunately, after the britist came, they included the Kuki hills and the Naga Hills under the administration of the Manipur state. This is how the hills of the present manipur became part of manipur politically and how the meiteis start living, in some pockets, in the Hills. But till now they (meiteis) don't have the right to buy lands in the hills of manipur. Those meiteis who live and claim to have plots of land and houses in the hills are illigal (unconstitutional) dwellers (or illigal immigrants?)! Because they are not entitled to buy land and live in the hills constitutionally.

Manipur was never kangleipak, kangleipak is a very old name derived from meitei dialect while manipur is a new term derived from sanskrit which is a unify name with tribal lands and populations. The meaning "Kangleipak" itself is dry land which is only the plain areas where meitei people settled. The geologist even said the plain of manipur was once filled with water before 500 years back but it slowly dry up. Kang khra ba leibak hainabane.

20:06 The Ministry of Tribal Affairs wrote to the Manipur government on May 29, 2013, requesting a specific recommendation on the inclusion of Meiteis in the ST list. These documents nor any request to include the Meiteis in the ST list has ever been submitted by any government in Imphal. So the ST demand committee file a PIL. The ST demand has been pending since the last 10 years. Manipur HC did not have the right to provide ST status to any community. The ST demand can be provided by the State/ Union Territory is by a notified order of the President of India after checking a long lists of different criteria. The HC of Manipur recommended the government of Manipur to submit the request as it has been a long pending request. It's not ST status milgaya or milne wala tha. It was just a recommendation. But HC recommendation was not the main reason for the conflict between Meiteis and Kukis. I appreciate your work. However please work more harder. Because little learning is dangerous when it comes to history.

Animistic way of life is the identity of tribals. In fact these are the owners of this land, India that is Bharat. These people had created Sind civilization before Aryans entered this land. These Aryans slowly changed the culture of the origins and became what now they call Hindu. Hindu deities are new to both the origins and Aryans. Origins had totems, worshipped their ancestors, lived close to the nature, had republics to govern themselves. Due to their spread far and wide areas their language , culture, identities changed. Hill is not part of meitei kingdom is copletely wrong. The present state of manipur area was under manipur king.However, under the british rule, valley was controlled by manipur king but hill was under british. The total geographical area of manipur both valley and hill was merged in the indian union in 1949. Before 1949, manipur got independent from British rule on 14th August,1947. Dont twist original history of manipur. The tribe known as kuki was allowed to settle in churachandpur (southern part)by the meitei king.They were migrated from myanmar through mizoram.
