Origin | CGI Animated Short Film | The One Academy
Our short film, Origin, is about two gods, sun god and water goddess, competing to nurture a growing plant.
Two gods, Sun god and Water goddess, who believes that they are more important to the plants growth, starts to show off their powers. Trying to prove that they have the capability to take care of the plant themselves, they start to display their abilities. Each time they did, the plant flourished. But as it continued, the plant, unable to withstand their elements began to wither. The gods soon realise this and rush to save the plant together. They recognise the importance of their cooperation, that without it nothing can grow.
We wanted to write a story exploring the themes of family and cooperation. The two gods were written as parent figures who thought their own ways of nurturing was the best and only way. The story revolves around how their selfish actions can lead to other people around them or in this case, the plant, suffering from the consequences of their arrogance.
Initially, the ending of the film was written to have a more darker tone where the plant perishes. But through that, the gods realise they have to work together if they want to breathe new life into their world. This was to portray that some consequences are permanent and can’t actually be fixed with magic. Nonetheless, we have to learn from it and do better.

I see this as parents who are so caught up in arguments over everything to where they forget that its affecting their kid(s). And when they notice it the kid wants nothing to do with them, until they learn to cope with it.

It reminds me the origin of everything (especially love). In the beginning, we share a common interest and we are all attracted by others’ special & different personalities at first sight. The more we know each other, the further the gap between us will be. It is created from diferences of our personalities, from our ego, physical distance…The gap makes us blinded & forget to care for the original interest. Therefore, result will be the dying flower, the dying of happiness & love. We regret & try to make it revive. There is only tear & last warmth can help. But there is few people who can make it.

This tree represents love between 2 people. At first, two people try to make impression on each other and hope for this love to be in abundance. Their ego shows too much power to make it fast and compete each other to take control. When the love dies, they regret and learn lesson from mistakes. Tears can heal. After all they are patiently cooperate, use enough strength and care to make love grow. They love because of true love, not because of ego anymore. Only true love can stand the test of time. ❤ Thank u for beautiful message.

This is how I adapt this story to the real world. A battle between two countries.The poor people in those countries are suffering because of the rulers' greed for power. I love this great work 👏👏👏❤

This is the life . First in our childhood we didn't know about tension we used to live our life with enjoy because that our parents arround us but with the time we leave our house for our career, future where we face a lot of problems and time come where we are full fails, anxiety, lack of confidence, fear etc but when skill and self-confidence work together it will come out with a thing which even we didn't expect ♥️
Overdoing anything is never good. This work showed that finding the right balance is best, a concept that resonates with creative spirits worldwide. Amazing.
One story but many meanings. We can see this story from the point of view of the journey from seed to flower. We can see this story from the point of view that everything should be equal. We can also see this story from the point of view that unity brings the best outcome of anything. And many things we can learn from this story.
If we work together we can do anything!!! Positive isn’t being right but doing right… and right isn’t about strength but endurance… the world is so big and full of life!! Let’s celebrate LIFE!!! We have a uniqueness about us!!!

In my point of view, the plant represents us and the two big giant symbolizes the good and bad things that happens in our lives. The more they bring happiness and sadness at the same time it made us so anxious to feel to much happiness because we think that there has to be something in turn. The balance of happiness and sadness let's us to grow much better.
It takes time to happen . Believe and stay 😊

MORAL: Love develops into a beautiful relationship when ego is gone.
I love the way they pressented the complex concept in a simple and engaging manner. I found this as a teaching learning resource to sensitize the learner about people, trees, to love people also to teach the food making process of plant. Thank you for this interactive video
