There is a mistake in your video which makes the folding finally more difficult than it is. At 7:50 you make a valley fold on the coloured side, that is wrong! Here you need mountain folds, so you should turn the paper over in this step. I am not wondering why people don’t succeed. Besides, I am kindly asking you to ask creators for permission before publishing a video of their designs. Thank you.

They're so many ways to do different kind of flowers. If she learned it this way don't say it's "wrong" Because at the end she made a beautiful flower. Then why does she have to ask permission? Does everyone who makes a video on this flower have to ask permission because this way of making it been a round for awhile. If this is the way she learned it let her be and she wants to teach people how. I don't understand how people like you always have something to say

@@Violet-pn4nl The lady who commented is literally the person who designed this model; the suggestion Carmen gave is entirely valid, and you would realise that if you made the flower. This is her original work and if anyone wants to use it, they must ask permission from the creator. She can take the video down if she wanted to, but politely chose to ask. So please, respect the designer's wishes, and take their criticism positively. They know much more than you do, and whatever input they offer is valuable, for people who want to listen and implement it. Your attitude of mindlessly hate-commenting is of no benefit to the community, please think before you comment. Have a good day :)

All I can say is: If you want a Carambola that's folded from a single piece of paper - this is it. But, either I made a valley fold where it should have been a mountain approx half way thru, or the instructions folded incorrectly (? - I was too fed-up to replay it by that stage) - this is not for the faint-hearted! Came out successfully in the end, luckily. It would help if the artist showed the reverse side more often whilst folding as this could sort out many problems earlier on.

This is not Origami since you cut the paper, but rather Kirigami.

  • @davideakle2336

Actually this is a very pretty piece of origami. Many origami models start with a pentagon. The square had to be cut also, but that doesn't make a model folded from it "kirigami." Any paper object in which folding is the primary method of shaping it, is origami, and it does not cease to be origami if you make a snip with scissors or use a bit of glue to hold it together. These "pureland" rules are a late introduction, and many of the early Japanese books on origami include models that require cutting or gluing.
