How to make an origami Peacock

In this tutorial you'll learn how to make an origami Peacock step by step. In this version I've added more pleat folds to make the spread feathers and, in addition, I also made the crest on its head. With this approach it is not possible to make really big feathers, but I still like how it looks.

► DIFFICULTY LEVEL: hard
It's not really complex, but some steps can be tricky for beginners. If you think 20m 19s is easy, you should be able to make this model with no problems.

The tissue foil I ordered finally arrived today so I decided to try to fold this model even though it was labeled as hard. The tissue foil made a huge difference in folding and I actually managed to complete the model in like two hours without wasting any of my precious sheets of paper

this was tough with all the little folds, but ingenius design. I've got a wobbly peacock now XD
Instructions not clear, i ended up crafting a real peackock.

I just made this design yesterday and it is fantastic! Very elegant design, and I love how well it holds its shape, usually designs like this need a little bit of glue or tape to prevent them from splaying out but this one stays in form very well.
I made it then I colour it and then it was looking like a real peacock. Thank you Jo Nakashima.
god this took me four whole hours each time i did it but i'm feeling very pleased. using this and your other peacock design to make an origami bird chess set and (bc of your stunning designs) it's turning out pretty well!

Hi Jo Nakashima, I folded this the day it came out. It took me a lot of time, but it was worth it! Instructions were so clear, I probably would've taken longer. XD

hey Jo, I was wondering if you could work on an origami dog, similar to the one by Gen Hagiwara or something like that. I understand it can be hard to fold but I wont mind any difficulty and I'm sure anyone who desires similar result wont either. So maybe give it a shot when youre free, and also, this is a GREAT model and thank you for all of your hard work, good luck with your future projects or models, youre the best!
