it's not brown is purple. in pink i have a mix on pink, purples and reds since theres only 6 slots, the colour your talking about is called Argyle Purple is a dark purple colour, cause the lids don't match with the actual colors so i see what you mean

it depends on where you live cause the price is different for other countries, i think this set is around 330 dollars in Canadian, but i got them as a Christmas gift from my brother and i think they were on sale on amazon when he got them
