#NeverAgain
-------------------------
When a child wakes up on an ordinary day.
He dresses himself and he gathers his bag
and his parents wave him on his way.
When he sees his friends and they have so much to say.
But their classes are starting and there should be time
to catch up later on that day.
So they say their goodbyes
and go on their way.
As they usually do everyday.
When they take their seats on an ordinary day.
How could anyone know theyʼd be quickly erased
and their lives would be taken away.
Over and over and over and over again.
Over and over and over and over again.
How many bodies do we have to bleed.
to keep this from happening again.
When a man wakes up on an ordinary day.
He kisses his wife as she puts on her shoes
knowing all the while sheʼd rather stay.
So he leaves the house, a little earlier today,
to stop by her office and kiss her again
‘cause he knows it will brighten her day.
So they say their goodbyes
and go on their way.
As they usually do everyday.
When he gets to school on an ordinary day.
How could anyone know heʼd be quickly erased
and his life would be taken away.
Over and over and over and over again.
Over and over and over and over again.
How many bodies do we have to bleed.
to keep this from happening again.
Mothers and fathers and brothers and sisters and friends we will never see again.
How many families have broken apart for a system protected by men.
When did a gun matter more than the life of a child, a family, a friend?
How can we start, after all that weʼve lost, to mend?
Over and over and over and over again.
Over and over and over and over again.
How many bodies do we have to bleed...
How many bodies do we have to bleed...
How many bodies do we have to bleed
to keep this from happening again.

I stumbled across this young woman on Britain's Got Talent. She blew me away in more ways than one. Then I saw her do a duet with Michael Buble. She has so many Avenues she could go. Never enough a couple of weeks ago was just moving I don't believe it could have been any better which in itself is an outrageous statement. And when I heard her voice with Michael Buble I mean it was just perfect in so many ways... She told the story and she's almost like her own conductor....? Ironically- from what I understand, I believe her dad is a conductor? And her mother is involved in some kind of a voice or speech occupation? That is really cool if it's true. But I did notice on Britain's Got Talent that she seemed to be her own conductor and grasp the emotion in a way I had never seen anybody achieve. I hope I see more of her. I am partial to when she sings the emotional songs, she just seems to naturally be able to capture the story. She's very refreshing and very original with an old-school Flair. Glad I met you Lauren

Unless it's some crazy coincidence... I know what show choir you're talking about. I've seen them perform 2 or 3 times, and the soloist is absolutely amazing. She is the reason I've looked this song up in the first place, lol.

I judged this show choir and it's the reason I'm here... one of the most mesmerizing ballads I've seen in my 10 years of judging and even longer of being involved in the show choir industry. The song is the vehicle... but the clear connection to the content. authentic performers and stunning arrangement take it to the next level. Bravo, Blue Devils.

I'm very good friends of the family of the singer who performs this song in the show choir. She's amazing and mesmerizing. Ended the year with Grand Champions. Along with best vocals, best band and best soloist. It was my son's first year. I'm glad that you got to see them perform and to judge. I still get chills every time I hear this song. Their performance at Western Dubuque was nothing but magical.

@@jrgealt In my humble musical judgment, the song should be kept simple and the idea of being just a guitar and a cello maybe accompanying the vocals is brilliant. The lyrics are very very powerful in their own releasing high emotional charge that makes even the strongest people wet their eyes. It remains so strong and current even these days that we live with the pain of new events. How great it could be if Loren can perform it in UK.
