I wish you could have fallout 4 styled conversations with the captains and what not. Wished the forts would've actually needed constant supplying etc. Gotta do raids with the boys like in ac valhalla and what not.

@@ozzylepunknown551 I feel like the fort supplying thing was actually intended to be a game feature (going by early dev gameplay footage and what *SPOILERS* *SPOILERS* Ratbag says when you meet him, of course the Ratbag thing is just me reaching) but was cut/scrapped!

I like to think that Talion doesen't actually dominate every orc in the army, it would be nearly impossible to have an army that big with every single orc dominated that are not captains, this means that most of the grunts or are forced by their captain or voluntary decided to switch side, I like to think tho that most of them are volunteer and the reasons well you can hear those in this video for example. After all orcs respect strenght and Tallion is proving his strenght afainst Sauron, one can complain "but they join the good guys" yes but they dosean't know that they are just grunts, The brightlord promise domination of mordor omitting that they are defending humans lands. So for the orcs Talion is almost like a reskin of Sauron.

You get to see that kind of thing in the first game. A captain goes on a recruiting mission, and the ones that join him gain blue eyes like they were branded. Except you obviously didn't jump over and brand them all.

you can dominate your own orcs and get health from it and they get branded. So yes, they are not mindcontrolled.

I love the random dialogue that can come up between the orcs, or to you. Best one I heard from my random troops at a fort was, "'Suffer me now,' how about you?" "'Serve!' Not as impressive, but gets the point across." I'd keep my bodyguard for whichever region I was in summoned nearly all the time once I learned that they'll tell you about their backstories while the two of you are out of combat. The best/worst I ever heard was from when I made a Ranger-Killer my bodyguard: "After one big battle, I ran across a wounded Ranger on the field. He kept begging for water, so I put rocks in his armor and rolled him into the river! Ahahaha... Uh... that wasn't anyone you knew, was it, boss?"

I like the implications that Talion canonically treats his Orc troops with some sort of level of decency.

Wait until you see his executions. Some of those have a nice touch of brutality. You could also get the fury ability and punch an orc several times for some extra might while you have it down before you do the ground execution.

I love all the details like that. Even how some captains will talk about their weaknesses and fears infront of their gang.

@@skell6134 Yeah I imagine a story of a Captain shitting his pants at the sight of a Caragor would probably spread around the warbands

This game was very action oriented (and did the action very well), but they also added a lot of little things like these whenever you would take things more slowly, either in your own forts or in the wilderness. Caragors hunting orcs, your troops doing the daily chores around your fortress, your generals playing dice or commiting the occasional war crime on enemy prisoners. These little details gave a lot of pillars to make the world feel like a, well, living, breathing world.

The Orc roommate sketches they made were perfect years ago to promote the game, but this makes me want an "Undercover Boss" style sketch with Talion participating!

That is nice and also lore friendly since neither Sauron or Morgoth would fight in the front

To be fair I'm pretty sure Talion is the best choice out of their choices for leaders cause the main 3 Sauron is just a camper who never leaves his house Celemor views them as no more than weapons and other Orcs betray each other all the time or enslave said other orcs while Talion in my books seems to just either run to the next fight or just let the orcs do whatever they feel like

Nah, you can't run army like that. Especially the orc army. For the very least, they will be perma-drunk. And morale is very low. Soldiers need orders. I'm sure Tallion regularly meets with his generals, has counsils, send messages etc. It just left outside the screen since it's not a strategy.

i think the Forts should unlock mission that would be Just " send a captain to recruit more soldiers , Go and take grog from the enemy etc" Just to have more thing to do in the Fort.

Funny thing,some orcs in this game are having really big problems with staying dead,coming back again and again.

I remember one of the Orc captains I think asking me if I wasn't part Orc with how good I fought. I really loved these little things.

I don’t know why but wish there was a scene in the game where you would meet up with Idril or Baranor and one of your loyal orks would show up and talion would have to convince them that the ork was friendly

I really wish your human allies and Uruk allies would have interacted more during the story. Like Baranor fighting alongside one of your orcs and realizing they're not so different from men

It would have been really awesome if you had a way to promote some of your grunts into captains (like having a tournament and the last grunt surviving became a captain loyal to you or something). I always felt that it was pretty limiting for captain to be adde to your army only through domination.

Just dawned on me that talions resurrecting all the time doesn't phase the orcs cause they're all used to being massed produced in vats, and sometimes even resurrected. Plus they're probably too stupid to notice how this is wierd for a human to do

I think most just like the idea of an enemy they can fight and kill over and over

I like how some of the orcs and uruks think he's either one of them but very ugly, a better boss than other orcs, a human but also orc? Their whole line of thinking is hilarious

I’d love the option to promote grunts into captains or do stuff to increase loyalty of individuals. Like helping against a rival or with recruiting underlings.

those orcs should get a..i was gonna say raise but i doubt they get paid..uuh..a promotion! yes!

Always keep an eye out for my boys in the field.

I've always been curious as to what the captain who were once slaves have to say about the bright lord, or what the allied slaves have to say about him. Do you think you pul do a video on either? I think that'd be cool

I've always loved the idea of enemies to friends in games. This is why shadow of war is one of my absolute favourite games ever

This warms my heart.

One of my bodyguards says how he had a squad of orks and how he trained them. He tells me how they died but now how he will not make the same mistake with my boys

In my headcannon Talion isn't as violent with Orcs in the lore as he is in the game, so when you dominate orcs or captains and warchiefs Talion doesn't toss them aside or something and instead he just kinda lets them go

This is why JRR Martin made the Orcs the way they are in his books because he kept feeling bad for having them killed off all the time

I like to think that the captains are voluntarily joining, talion is just cranking up his speech, this is shown by the fact that they can betray you at any point

Uruks are the best Minions i had in any game (maybe second to Minions from overlord but Uruks 100% 2nd place)

Talon sets a good example of what it means to be a leader for the orks of course in this universe Orcs aren't mindless dogs

One Dark Lord, one Bright Lord, not much different if their methods are the same. I do like what one Orc said, how Tallion does fight alongside them like a leader should.

I love seeing all these videos on the orcs conversations, then remember the complete 180 of a clip I have on Xbox, the very first one from SoW where in the mission just before you get the bow, there’s an orc “draining the lizard” next to one of the archer towers and the clip is just me crouched behind him seeing if he’ll finish and when he doesn’t I stealth kill him

I wish you could just randomly choose an grunt on your team to become a captain

More interactions like this I feel would of made the game better for me.

You know small convos between the orcs no mater if it is just a grunt to an grunt or a warchief to his soldiers it really gives them alot more character and personality than the regular NPC's in most games Also the fact they actually like and respect us is pretty cool, tho i doubt it i hope they make another shadow of ..... game or atleast a game withe the nemesis system in it cause it's a pretty cool and unique system and lays a good path for good games

I heard the new Wonder Woman game will have the Nemesis system implemented. The trailer said something about "making allies and enemies" so I'm assuming Diana will be able to build an army similar to the way Talion does. Find a strong enemy, make him your friend

I like how the orcs have learned to be racist from Sauron but are still Class conscious. "Can you trust an orc? Not a boss orc"

the last subtitle is off a bit. The orc says "You must (h)ave been pulled from the vats this morn" He is saying that the orc must have been so fresh out he has not actually heard the many stories the orks tell of the Gravewalker

If I ever catch a orc talking bad about me I will drain him then make his head a homemade fire work

I actually heard that first line earlier today. Makes me realize Sauron really does just sit on their ass doing nothing, basically letting you take over Mordor and just sending the pussy Nazgul after you. A bunch of Necromancers summoning a lava-monster were a bigger threat than Saurons lazy ass

i dont see sauron rescuing his warriors even the most imporant ones he'd send someone. I also don't see him usually fighting alonside his warriors. And I bet these uruks saying that werent alive for and didnt see the few times when sauron did fight alongside his/the warriors. Plus sauron is a elf can you trust them either?? probably much less than an uruk or a human thats for sure...

I am more of a person fuck around while doing quests. Can you still buy the game though? I wish I could use the the Nemesis system but it's copyrighted what a shame. Why not let everyone use it (Public Domain) and you can still use it while you still make money with your games. We are talking about the Warner Brothers they aren't going use this game mechanic that much what a waste.

I wish there would be an Option that you cant hurt/kill your own orcs, I Always feel bad when I ecidently kill them.

My partner Dûgz which is a Fiery Dark Berserker said to me "You know I don't like tarks but you're one of the good one's, and I respect that." Most of my Uruks are more then orcs they are actually a Bloodbrother to me.❤🫂 💯 They are my Boys we Fight together and Protect each other. One day me and my boys were raiding an enemy camp and one of the enemy captains Enrages when you pin his leg frozen so I pinned him on purpose I love making them Captains mad🤣 and he *Enraged* and one of my boys was laughing and said "You done that on purpose hahaha!" You bet I did!😂😂 I have such a great time with them especially playing on Gravewalker difficulty.
