Humans: Wanna go watch orcas at the beach? Orcas: Wanna go watch humans at the shallows?

We see orcas quite a bit here in the Puget Sound. They're always coming up to boats and kayaks. If they see people on the shore they'll come close to get a look, I think they like looking at us as much as we like seeing them.

Thanks for uploading! This is the way these majestic creatures are meant to be observed and appreciated... not confined in relatively small tanks, separated from their families/pods, turning tricks (for dead fish) for paying customers.

The thing is, orcas aren’t programmed to eat dead things - they’re hunting mammals who prefer their food live and fresh. Not only are SeaWorld neglecting and abusing their orcas, they are also starving them! No wonder they attack people - if lack of food can stop a human brain working properly, who knows how badly it affects orcas?

I just saw a video shot from the beach of this very same sighting. Great sighting! The stingray escaped and swam up the beach, just at the shoreline. Very smart stingrays! Gorgeous orcas!💖🐬🐬🐬💖

Mother Orca... these are the creatures that are eating our fish, when there's none left we may have to start eating them! Wouldn't that be a turn about... hope it doesn't come to that. Orcas in the artic are already suffering due to over fishing! Other than that a lovely video!

Wtf are you talking? Orcas know they must not to start killing people, they would be hunted to extinction then. Older orcas still remember days of whaling when thousands of them were killed each year by whaling ships. That's why they usually are avoiding people and in some parts of world( Indonesia, Grenland, Innuits in Canada) still are hunting them.

The hunting behavior you’re referring to is localized to only 1 Pod in Patagonia where 2 male individuals created it and taught 6 more of their family. So only 8 Orca in the world beach themselves while hunting seals...per the researcher (Roberto Bubas) who studies them stated in the last video I saw.

They are close because NZ orcas eat almost only stingrays and sharks and stingrays live mostly in shallows
