🍊 ORANGE MARMALADE CAKE 🧡

ORANGE MARMALADE CAKE
3 cups Cake Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted softened Butter
2 cups granulated Sugar
3 Eggs at room temperature
1 Tablespoon grated Orange Zest
1-1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1 cup Buttermilk at room temperature
ORANGE SYRUP RECIPE:
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1/4 cup granulated Sugar
FOR THE FILLING: 12-ounce jar Orange Marmalade
or homemade like we did together in the video. Link to watch below.
FROSTING RECIPE:
1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
4 Tablespoons Confectioner's Sugar (Ester used granulated)
1 cup (8-ounces) Sour Cream (Next time I make this frosting I'm go only to only add 4-ounces or maybe a little more sugar)
(1) For the Cake: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F and grease (3) 8-inch round cake pans. Butter the top and sides of each pan and line each with parchment paper in the bottoms. Butter paper as well.
(2) In the bowl of an electric mixer beat the butter and sugar together until light in color, about 4 minutes. Then add the eggs one-at-a-time mixing well after each addition.
(3) In the meantime, sift the flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
(4) In a small bowl mix the buttermilk, orange zest and vanilla.
(5) With the mixer on low or stir, alternate adding 1/3 of the dry ingredients and then 1/3 of the buttermilk mixture. Continue until they are all added and ending with the dry ingredients last. Scrape down the mixing bowl and mix another minute.
(6) Divide the cake batter evenly pouring it into the cake pans. Smooth the batter on top. Rap each pan on the counter a couple of times to expel air bubbles in the batter. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
(7) ORANGE SYRUP In a small bowl stir together the fresh orange juice to make the syrup and spoon onto the cakes while they are still warm. Leave the in the pans and let them cool completely.
(8) ORANGE MARMALADE Heat the marmalade in a small saucepan to melt it and let it cool a bit. My homemade marmalade is spreadable without heating it.
(9) FROSTING In a chilled electric mixing bowl whip the heavy cream with the whisk attachment with the sugar until stiff peaks form. With the mixer running slowly add the sour cream a little at a time and whisk until mixture is spreadable consistency.
(10) DECORATING THE CAKE Place one layer of cake upside down and be sure to remove the parchment paper. Place a third of your orange marmalade over the top. Now place the 2nd layer and another third of the orange marmalade. Place the third and final layer and cover with the, remainder orange marmalade all but about 1 to 2 inches of the border of the cake. Now frost the sides and top border of the cake with the whipped cream mixture leaving the center of the marmalade on top exposed. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving. Keep refrigerated. Enjoy!
The measuring cups I used in the video many of you are asking About. The Amazon link below of you order from there I will receive a small commission at no additional charge to you and I'll keep on baking. Thank you 😊💜

@@amyslouisianakitchen it got down to 29 last night. BURRRR MY OLD BONES SURE TOLD ME IT WAS COLD! It’s supposed to get into the 70+ tomorrow. We’d we are supposed to have thunderstorms. My poor dog is so scared of storms. I got her one of those beds to help her not be so scared! Of course it didn’t help. I just hate I can’t ease her but nothing helps. I even got her calm treats and no good with them either. HAPPY SPRING TO YOU AND YOURS! Love ya! Beautiful cake!

@@lindabranum6686 we must be getting your weather from last night. Glad you are getting warmth tomorrow. The cold and the warm always causes these terrible storms doesn't it? I have a little dog Jax that literally shakes like he is go an have a seizure. I worked at a vet clinic for years and there aren't answers for, it. Wish, they could understand us telling them it will, be okay. Have, you ever tried a thunder coat? It wraps around, then firmly and sometimes it helps. I had a, dog it worked on in the past but it doesn't help Jax. Hold your poor pup close and love in him. All we can do. When it is, the, middle of, the night I have to keep ours with me so John can sleep lol. Well I hush now. Love you, too😊💜 take care and warm your bones.
