Oracle Weblogic Data Sources (JDBC) & JMS: For Beginners k21academy.com/weblogic01
In WebLogic Server, you configure database connectivity by adding data sources to your WebLogic domain. WebLogic JDBC data sources provide database access and database connection management. Each data source contains a pool of database connections that are created when the data source is created and at server startup.
A JMS server defines a set of destinations (queues or topics) and any associated persistent storage that resides on a WebLogic Server instance. A JMS server manages connections and handles all message requests for its destinations on behalf of clients.

How to change driver class name

Hi Abhishek, in Oracle WebLogic Server, data sources are used to establish connections to databases or other resources. The driver class name is a crucial part of configuring a data source, as it specifies the Java class that implements the JDBC driver for the database you're connecting to. If you need to change the driver class name in a WebLogic data source, follow these general steps: Note: Before making any changes to your WebLogic configuration, it's recommended to back up your configuration and test the changes in a non-production environment. Access the WebLogic Console: Open a web browser and navigate to the WebLogic Console. This is usually accessed via a URL like localhost:7001/console. Login: Log in to the WebLogic Console using valid administrative credentials. Navigate to Data Sources: In the left navigation pane, expand the "Services" section and click on "Data Sources" under "JDBC". Locate the Data Source: Find the data source for which you want to change the driver class name from the list of configured data sources. Edit Data Source Configuration: Select the data source you want to modify and click on the "Configuration" tab. Update Driver Class Name: Look for a field labeled "Driver Class Name" or something similar. This is where you specify the fully qualified class name of the JDBC driver you want to use. Update this field with the new driver class name. Save Changes: After updating the driver class name, make sure to save your changes. There's usually a "Save" or "Apply" button at the bottom or top of the configuration page. Test the Data Source: After making the changes, it's a good practice to test the data source to ensure that it can establish connections to the database using the new driver class name. You can usually find a "Test Connection" button on the data source configuration page. Restart WebLogic Server (If Necessary): Depending on your WebLogic setup and the nature of the change, you might need to restart the WebLogic Server to apply the configuration changes. This is usually not required for simple configuration changes, but it's a good idea to verify if the changes take effect immediately. Verify Configuration: Double-check the data source configuration to ensure that the driver class name is updated and saved correctly. Remember that specific steps might vary based on the version of WebLogic Server you are using. Always consult the official Oracle WebLogic documentation for your version to get the most accurate and up-to-date instructions. Also, make sure to perform these changes in a controlled environment to avoid any disruptions to your production systems.
