The biggest difference is that Bass wood has a very smooth and tight wood grain making it easier to mimic other woods when staining. They are both light weight and strong woods, but most manufacturers prefer bass wood as it is readily available, very sustainable, and easy to work with. Both woods make a good shutter. When painted, it is hard to tell the difference, but when stained there is a very noticeable difference.

Can you install interior shutters with a window A/C?

How do you remove the outside molding around shutter. We have to replace the window but was told we have to remove the shutter first. It looks like the fancy molding on the white window you show in the video. I don't see any screws or nails in the trim.

Yes, if properly made. In fact, Norman Shutters actually makes a motorized shutter that works great for skylights.

My favourite is the tier on tier shutters. I feel like I am a cowboy in the UK.
