Great job Chris, and a much better attempt at MEETING THE STUDENT WHERE THEY ARE CURRENTLY (The Beginning Stage) WITH THEIR COMPREHENSION of engaging in option trading... I like to send friends, and or people that I meet inquiring about investing, and trading to KZread tutorial videos with folks who have a strong foundation of what it is to be a through, and intuitive "TEACHER", verses a "Piss Poor" teacher...A good Teacher will always have a lesson plan; meaning a A WELL THOUGHT CLASS, that MINIMIZES the possibility of purveying unintended confusing messages....Cutting off all routes of escape of their minds attempting to misunderstand the lesson other than what you are saying, or intending to say.... Respectfully one thing I seen that would have been worthy of mentioning,..... is what will be the NEW STRIKE PRICE to look for (In this case) if the stock was to drop to the next support line..Secondly you and I both know how fast the price can change in these markets, so showing how to utilizes setting the LIMIT Price, ((and never the market price & WHY )) to trigger a possible slight delay for the order to be picked up , so that it gives the retailer time ((( IN ROBINHOOD)) time to set the STOP LOSS for that particular option verses, like a Webull where everything can be done in a single transaction... I hope that this has lovingly given you some insight on ways that will make you the gold standard of where people should turn to when wanting to get a strong foundation in this profession.. just sold a property in Portland and I'm thinking to put the cash in stocks, I know everyone is saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? yes, a good number of folks are raking in huge 6 figure gains in this downtrend, but such strategies are mostly successfully executed by folks with in depth market knowledge

@@microphone321 LEAPs stands for term long-term equity anticipation securities. It is an option that you buy that has an expiration date of 1 year or more from when you purchase the option.

Options definitely have more to learn with that being said they are very powerful. You should try searching how to sell options on KZread. You’ll find some amazing strategies that will help you make consistent income

So if you buy a call and set an expiration date, can you sell that option whenever you want to before that expiration date?

Buying options, especially with shorter time frames is risky. Buying LEAPs is a really good way to profit with buying call options.

@@microphone321 good question so on your brokerage platform, instead of open to buy you would choose open to sell. Or there should be a button that says sell call/ sell put. You can sell both calls and puts. You need enough cash to do the puts and you need 100 shares to sell calls.

@@uglyducklingfinance2023 I think they’re referring to making your own contracts, which if I’m correct requires you to actually have the shares to create and sell the contract. I could be wrong though.

Can I put a stop loss on either a put or a call ? Can I sell a put or a call prior to the strike date ?

Delta is how much an options value will increase or decrease per one dollar move in the stock. It is also used to show the percentage of the option expiring in the money at expiration. Theta is how much of the options value will decay as it gets closer to expiration.

So if I would of bought a $9.00 call, it breaks even at $9.35, the stock has to go above the $9.35 to start making money???? Anything beyond $9.35 is profit or as anything above $9.00 is profit? What I don't understand from watching this video is Do you just wait until the expiration date? And you make profit from that? Or do you exercise the option in correlation to the fluctuation of the stock price? Or of the option contract price?

No you exist when you think is best. That’s the hardest part. Take the gains or stay and risk.

Quick question. Can you always find a buyer of your options, call or puts ? Or does it depend on liquidity, so a less liquid stock you may get stuck with your option ?

Good question. The volume in the option chain will show how liquid it is. So with smaller stocks you might have a harder time but you shouldn’t ever run into issues when you are playing bigger stocks

I’m glad so many are understanding what you’re saying but I am completely lost. Idk what any of these words and options or whatnot mean to even begin to get excited about stocks.

I was trying to buy an option on Robinhood,it ask me to transfer weekly, monthly, or something else. I wanted to do a one time transfer. It wouldn't let me use the one time transfer.
