Option buying is important for hedging and cross hedging portfolio . It is also used as an insurance for futures trading. If you intend to take delivery, futures trading with option buying actually makes a lot of sense. I have earned money in option buying . It is a 10 month game. Extreme movements take place atleast twice every quarter especially during result season. That’s where the buyer earns a bonanza return. Both buying and selling is beneficial and both are used for different purpose

option buyer can make more than 100% profit in one trade but option seller can't.

But option buyer has less probability of winning. Same way you can earn 10000+% if you take a lottery.

Winning option buy trade is like winning a lottery and that too everyday!!! Crazy!! Even if I have capital for being option seller i will never ever sell option... Option buying is the way to go!!!

Sir , you did not add that , By hedging we can reduce margin money required in Option selling. You can even do option selling with 40k or 50k

Sir can you plz explain why option seller has to keep lot of margin money? I think this is because they have to take the delivery and give it to the buyer in case of call option selling

One big doubt in option selling is if the premium amount goes up by 1 rupee or more. How the loss is calculated? Is it 1 * premium amount? Or there is different calculation?

For option buyer, risk is not limited. It is unlimited in case of Compulsory Physical Delivery. Is it correct?

Go to Zerodha console, then holdings, then select the share you want to pledge then you get drop down menu with option to pledge shares. Click on that it will ask how many shares you want to pledge, then submit and if it is successful you get message pledging request accepted. Then you get message from csdl to confirm pledging. You click link, it takes to csdl webpage, fill your pan number, then get otp, fill otp and you get confirmation from csdl pledging completed. Next day value of pledged share will appear in Zerodha. Process takes 1 to 2 days hope this helps
