Your break even was 240 in this scenario on the leap option, if you sell a one time call at the same expiration date for 240 and it gets exercised you break even on your original 8000 dollar leap and only gain the 400 ish on the call correct? That would make it more enticing to just do monthly covered calls as the stock moves around in price.

I do not have level 3 access. Would I be able to do two different transactions? Buy a call option first. Then sell a call option?

I just thought of this idea after watching your poor mans CC and wheel video. Selling deep/deep-ish itm leap puts, and selling leap otm CCS. Gives more premium, for income, takes benefits of wheel & pmcc. It doesn't benefit as much from rolling, if the call is deep otm, but if it's closer, you can still benefit from rolling. plus if it sells, that's fine for me, as I am focusing on growing capital, and since it's a large price difference, more return. Only concern I have with this idea is depending on how much is tied up, not likely to benefit as much from selling puts, unless you're fine selling more puts. Is there an official name for this strategy? I can't find anything on it anywhere, stuff I find on leaps involve buying. Thoughts? Love your content btw

this is a dumb question. How do you go straight to selling a call option if you didn't buy it? You have the covered 160 call to buy, but you're just selling the 240 call. Can you do that? Sell without buying?

The 240 Call is a Short Call. It's an obligation to sell the underlying at the strikeprice of 240 at the end of the duration. It makes no difference if you have the underlying from the beginning or if you buy them at the end. Or in this case if you have a right to buy the underlying from your 160 Call, a Long Call.

Not necessarily... there's a huuuuuuge reason why all these guys who trade also have a KZread channel - the biggest of them all is TAXES - if you just make money trading you can't deduct much as expenses, but if you "have a business" (which includes "financial education, making videos, etc.), then you can EXPENSE a TON of stuff and end up paying taxes on A LOT LESS. So, no... making money trading and doing these videos are not mutually exclusive... if he wants to spend his time educating others while significantly cutting down on his TAXES, good for him!

I have four established LEAP positions. Can I now sell calls on them?

Yikes. Would love to see an update on this. About the worst case scenario if you sold those covered calls already. If by some stroke of genius and blind luck you held off and own that 160 leap which is NOW an 87 delta 😮. I hope you held off selling the cover man. But regardless this is a very good lesson to everyone watching how this “safe and smarter method” can totally bite you in the a$$ wow what a move TSLA, what an awesome move.

What happens if the SELL CALL will be in the money at expiration meaning that you will need to sell 100 shares, but you don't have those, you have just the LEAP as collateral? This is what managing means? Monitor the SELL CALL and if approach to in the money just roll it?

Imagine if someone were to have done PMCC on SCMI lately ?? I mean , buying for 280-290 even ?? Can you calculate ??

I'm confused you said you'll show us how to close the position, at which point did you show us how to close it?

So, how should I diversify (with respect to strategies) a $250K portfolio between the wheel and the poor man's covered call? Allocate half toward each or weight it one way or the other? My goal is to 10X (minimum) the entire portfolio within the next couple of years.

Step 1 is to set realistic goals. Unless you’re willing to lose all of your money (I.e. take commensurate risk), you’re not 10x ing anything.
