it's more like he was reminded, because in the comic this scene is based on Spike shows up and tells Optimus it's okay and that he knew it was an accident, but Optimus took accountability and said how he should have known better because Cybertron was made of metal while Earth is made of more fragile lifeforms. it's a good scene and shows off Optimus's character and his love for all life

That is very sad... I feel bad for Optimus... Good animation and voice acting of the comic scene

Optimus can only be described as a warrior with a heart of gold It’s little scenes like this that just reaffirm the notion of Optimus being one of those characters that you simply can’t hate even if you tried

Sometimes I feel like he tortures himself trying to be the best he can be and that's why you can't help but love him. He doesn't just go through the motions of being a good person, but honestly deep in his heart wants to do nothing more than protect people, even as it rips him apart from the inside out. He is Benevolence given form.

Aww this Scene, i love this scene so much. Such a perfect representation for Optimus’s character. Even tho he’s Stoic and reserved on the outside, inside…he’s kind and gentle.

That's honestly a good recreation scene from the comics, I wish you were able to add the part of the kid telling Optimus that it was alright and Optimus telling him that it wasn't, for he had taken a innocent life, which he swore never to do

Ok, I will admit, I'm a dirty deception supporter, and even I approve of this scene from the entire comics. Shows just how much emphasis on life Optimus has, and it shows

Remember this from the same comic where Starscream Cannibalized Skywarp for part and Bomb Hospital

Beautifully rendered and animated. Tragic story though. But the emotion is genuine. With how Optimus marvels at the beautiful scenery, and regrets stepping on that deer.

If this was the US military propaganda movies, the deer being killed would've been played as a joke and Optimus wouldn't even care
