I would suggest Amir Beck's book for a general treatment of FOMs. However, this talk is brilliant. Check out E. Hazan's talk from 2017 too. That's also very insightful.

47:08 took me a couple listens .. he must be saying "awry". "When it goes awry". Guess he's only read the word before, which is weird for a native speaker!

Yes, he said "When it goes awry." But why is it weird? He's using it perfectly.
