Optimal Deforum Animation Settings for Quality/Coherence

Ғылым және технология

I performed a search over strength vs camera movement in Deforum animations and I found that 0.6 strength with camera movement within 3% of stationary is a good starting point.

Thanks for all the information, man! Please keep up with the good work! I was wondering if you could possibly help me with something. My images seem to be working well, and I've even discovered that using a seed is a great way to ensure consistency across different animations. Perfect for drama. However, I'm having some trouble with the contrast in my images. As my image generation progresses, the contrast seems to increase, and I'm not quite sure how to modify this aspect. In fact, the image sequence ends up looking good a little bit more blurry, saturated, and contrasted. Do you know why this happens?

Even though I should not write a comment, here it is. Thanks for your try and error. I feel like higher strength is better to get better consistency. Otherwise the videos are flickering a lot. It may also be important on which FPS you are working. If you got more frames per second, you cant afford too much change, but if there are less frames per second, bigger change wont flicker too much.

Is there a way to interpolate from one keyframe to another, instead of deforum just iterating on individual frames? In traditional animation, you usually don't animate on the ones in a straight ahead way unless you're doing certain effects work (flame animation comes to mind), and you usually make two keyframes, as well as a timing marker that indicates the animation curve...Before then producing the inbetweens to go from one keyframe to the next. Is there a way to get closer to a traditional animation workflow taking this into account? Also, is it possible to use Deforum in combination with Controlnet, or multinet? Like, if you want a character to have elements of their appearance in certain parts of specific frames, could you specify a depth map for a hand to animate it across the screen?

Did you experiment with no-zoom settings of 1 for 2d or 0 for 3D? I find zoom in works better for me often since then there is no outpainting distortion on a faster movement. zooming in fast works better then zooming out.

When generating, how come it always crash or stop when I change the aspect ratio? It doesn't seem to be able to render anything beyond 512x512 for me. Is it because my hardware is too limited? (RuntimeError: The size of tensor a (304) must match the size of tensor b (288) at non-singleton dimension 1 ) I keep getting this type of message. Also I can do 0,30,60,90 frames but as soon as I try to do 120, it wont allow me either. I guess my my 1080 gt card is too weak.

Like and huge respect for your work! However this still proves very limited use of deforum (as well as that whole AI) for real consistent animated production. Fun to play with? Absolutely. A real tool for an animation artist even with acception of this very “special” stylistics - barely. YT is already full of these animations and it’s a matter of very short time when people would start saying “not again, not another one of these hallucinogenic animations”. Wish we could keep this all among experimentators till something consistent starts to appear as current results are just going to undermine the whole thing.

Why not making 1 or 2 frames per seconds with high denoising strenght, then adding frame interpolation to the final result. And then remaking img2img with all the new frames with a bit of strenght ? Someone tested it ? Thanks again for your video, they are always good !
