The Presentation could've been done on fulll screen.. Its so straining to look into. (Its worser when i want to paralelley workout the simulation in splitscreen). May be next time.☺☺

Interested why you used PBC on the x boundaries instead of PLM (GaAs simulation)?

This particular example was modelling a plane wave so “infinite” along the x and there would be overlap between the injected source and those +/-x boundaries. Use of the PBC would provide us with behaviour that would match this condition. Use of the PML would have resulted in losses along the +/- boundary which would have not represented the example. If you have any further questions, please send it to support@optiwave.com

@@OPTIWAVEHD Thank you. I realized that I was mixing up how X and Z boundaries were defined so PBC makes perfect sense.

Where did u find a GaAs.xml file

In the video when we discuss importing GaAs.xml we show that a material can be exported by right clicking on the material within the product and selecting Export. This is what was done to obtain GaAs.xml by taking a material from within another design and exporting it. The material in question was obtained by creating a Lorentz-Drude material and selecting “Fit Curve”. This functionality allows you to import a csv file of wavelengths and refractive indices (we used data from refractiveindex.info) and perform a fit to it. If you have any further questions, please send it to support@optiwave.com

@@OPTIWAVEHD alright thank you i am a master's student trying to make an erbium doped fiber but can't figure out how would I manage the doping of the fiber in this software any ideas ?
