I was literally just thinking the same thing. To see Della and Tina saddened me, but to know that they were there made me joyful!

Ms Patti sent chills through my entire body. Tears are filling my eyes...This has recharged my spirit!!

If you don't want to be embarrassed dont hand #PattiLaBelle the microphone. I've always felt her voice came from a very deep spiritual part of herself. Its like something she can't control, just really special.

It's true. Her gift is bigger than her. It overtakes her.

Black people are spiritually connected to the source. It can't always be explained but it's always felt! You can't teach it,it's just conveyed threw soulful expression. Only the creator and black ppl can truly understand it.

It's just so sad that so many legends & Icons in this video aren't here anymore.

Chaka said it best..."Lord came into my life, and now I want it everyday, everyday, everyday" then here comes Ms. Gladys, man what a Sunday. I would have liked to hear Valerie Simpson's entire riff w/o Oprah's commentary but I'm happy nonetheless.

This has been years since this Legend Ball and I am still moved when watching!

I listen to this every day to lift my spirit. Every commenter has someone that reached them. I can understand how they feel, but did anyone notice Nick Ashford jumping for joy while his talented wife put the ball on the rim for Patty. I pray everyday for a marriage like that.

The point was ENJOY the moment, the singers, the Glory and presence of God. STOP the judging and knit picking. Just rest yourself and allow the holy spirit to fill your body and heart.

patti made me cry :-( ..she really moved me...thats so patti not taking anything from the other legends who sang and many didnt but you could see they all felt the spirit in the air...

It was such a remarkable and phenomenal event . I dance, cried and celebrated with all these amazing legend personality. I thank God for Oprah who had the vision and understanding how necessary it was to thank and shower those legends with flowers while they were able to feel and see the love .

It’s June 2024 and I still come back to watch this when I need to have my Spirit lifted 💗💗💗

There will never be another group of women like this in our lifetime. Ever. They are who the are because of what they had to go through and overcome. Enjoy them. Never will we see this again.

I'm so glad that I saved all the parts of Oprah's Legendary weekend. I loved seeing all my favorite people singing my favorite gospel music 🎶. Some legends have gone to heaven. i must have watched this 100 times and am blown away every time. it brings me to tears too that many of these legends are gone in 2024. so grateful this was recorded. astounding. can only imagine the power of being there.

Many have issues with Oprah these days including me, but to see this symposium of African American artists come together in this fashion was a once in a lifetime experience is truly epic.

This is one of my ALL TIME favorite clips. I can watch this a thousand times and still get caught up! I wish it was longer - they had so many divas they could have passed the mic to. In any case - I would have loved longer segments of the ones they DID pass the mic to. BeBe was the only man, but he was a wonderful foundation for this impromptu session. I hope all these people who attended would revisit this and tap into their faith again and let The Holy Spirit finish the work He started in them. It's one thing to say it and sing it - another thing altogether to live it. A lot of these people started the race, but not a lot of them are choosing to press forward. The race, as Paul said, goes to the ones who cross the finish line - not those who sign up. Let's keep all these "stars" in prayer - some have moved into eternity, but for those that are still here - they still have time.
