Is it just me or choosing a new phone has gotten a lot more tedious and annoying, cause you don't wanna end up with a shitty phone, and so you're avoiding choosing a new one at all and the market flooding with new phones which are more similar to eachother than not is not helping either.

Yeah this was the same case in lower midrange phones back in 2020. Now competition has shifted to upper midrange and premium phones, and now the stakes of buying a wrong phone are even higher.

exactly i was in that situation until today.. especially if the budget is constrained and you don't want to compromise on the quality and looks.. i finally pushed my budget up and ordered this reno 7 pro today.. this ticked most of the boxes in my list except the compact size and IP rating..

Funny how oppo decided to scrap the curved display thing from the 'pro' model and chose the boxy design like the non-pro Reno 6 for the 'supposedly pro' Reno 7 Pro. It feels like they deliberately made the regular Reno 7 look boring to make the Pro version look better. Feels like Oppo is pulling an Apple move right now. Ran out of ideas?!

Camera should be zoom capable. I'm waiting for your review on S22 series. I'll blindly go for it if you approve it 😜😜😜

FYI this is not a regular IMX766 it's actually IMX766V which has been designed to be exclusive to BBK entities and so it's featured in devices such as Vivo X70 and IQOO 8/9 devices. For the Front, IMX709 uses an RGBW rather than an RGGB filter that replaces Green with more White pixels meaning the sensitivity is high which allows for better low-light pics. However, RGBW suffers from image quality issues due to a lack of color pixels. So I think the MTK Dimensity MAX's upgraded ISP is used to convert the RGBW image to a conventional RGGB Bayer pattern which therefore maintains the image integrity.

Low light pictures from X70 looks cool but overall pictures aren't that special

I like the Pro version for its customized Mediatek chipset. Even the camera section in the device is quite interesting for the buyers.

Not having 120hz in around 40k plus phone has to be deal breaker atleast for me.

Also no OIS & telephoto lense. Also mediatek ISP is not upto the mark, which we can see in camera samples, in many scenarios the colors are dull and looks artificial. Honestly, Last year's Iqoo 7 legend can easily beat this phone at 40k

What you can expect from oneplus, OPPO, realme etc which are from same company.. They started overpricing theory device.. Better to get less spec samsung phone or some motorola phone which has no bloatware..

I just went to buy phone yestarday qmd saw the pro version i bought 2nd hand iphone 11 instead for 38k 1 year warranty

As it is a flagship device from oppo they could have gone with telephoto lense instead of macro and they could have gone with better wide angle sensor i.e 13MP something like that.the camera configuration is looking like a mid range mobile. where as moto with edge 20 and edge 20 pro is providing proper functional camera which are less than oppo in terms of pricing

All android phone needs to promise the security update in a timely manner and at least for 5 years ..

Reno Pro series should have curve screen as for design language that is minimalist,modern and aesthetics. Box design aren't trendy 😌. Also they stop providing Earphones anymore. As a Reno Pro user, i pay for software, build quality and camera. It really did a great job taking photos and recording video. I love mine. This new 7Pro ,hmmm i think just improvement, but backwards. 2MP macro and 8MP ultrawide. Please wake up.
