The good thing is this phone does have a global warranty directly from OPPO if you import from China so you can go to official Oppo service centres if there is a problem and use their official warranty services. The find series is the only series from any Chinese manufacturer that offers an international warranty so it's a nice little perk

Yes, no doubt, due to the ban in parts of Europe due to unpaid licenses to Nokia. That has been resolved now, so we hope to see a Global European version and get longer warranties (UK, on Amazon, 3 years for S24U).

@@kopkiwi08 I don't have this phone but I've used other Oppo China version phones without big problems. It will come with basic google services installed. You just have to install the play store and other google apps you want and they should work fine due to the phone having basic google services pre-installed. You might also have to mess around with permissions for notifications to come through. Android auto won't work though. It's still better to buy global models for ease of use though if you live outside China, especially if you want everything to work smoothly out of the box without any hassle

Hey thanks, well I'm from NZ but now based in Spain. But yes this worked with 2degrees just fine no issues. 2 big firmware updates now the cameras are so much better than shown here thankfully.

They Introduced exposure button in camera, but not for video and portrait photos. This issue is still happening in Find x6 pro and also in Oppo Find x7 Ultra. And there is High resolution photo mode that is similar to main camera that is not useful. They should resolve these issues in software update.

Thanks for your review, but why no mention about the special sauce in the Camera App? You can adjust the Auto-mode to your own preferences. Sharpness, Exposure, etc. And it's not the Pro-Mode.

Nice review. I noticed the x7u is not 3x 6x but 2.7 and 6x. 2.6 zoom is the main cam so it's worse than 2.7zoom

Great review man, i hope all these top tier chinese phones are going to release globally this year, i think Oppo has fixed some of the issues that prevented them from doing so with Nokia, and should be able to ship it to the west! This 8 gen3 tho is underwhelming no? The Adreno is stupid good, but the CPU throttles so much, even the Galaxy s24U with an almost double vapor chamber can't keep it under control. Is it early firmware or real chip issues?

It's chip issue. 8 gen 3 run hotter and less efficient than previous gen for the sake of power. Heat/throttle will be common problems to all non-gaming phones.

These cameras are better than the op12 and it performs better I have a comparison of the S24 ultra with the global version of the OnePlus 12.

Hi, great review. Seen you comparison between this and the Vivo X100 pro. I use the zoom capabilities a lot with phones. On paper this should win being a bigger Zoom lens but after seeing your comparison the Vivo seems to do better in image quality. I currently have the S22 Ultra and use the 10x Zoom a lot. Would you still choose the Vivo over this? Or do you feel the Cameras will improve more with software updates?

I feel this will continue to improve the last patch made a big difference but still some more work is needed. I'm impatient so use my X100 Pro and love the cameras especially in Zeiss authentic colour mode.

@Techtablets - I love the zoom tests where you use the city skyline. It really helps to understand what the different zoom levels will look like. I wonder if the synthetic leather back thermally insulates the phone, making it hotter than a glass back that can radiate heat? I understand it is plastic behind the synthetic leather, so that will also keep in the heat. The only flaw that bothers me in this phone is that it doesn't come with a 1tb option, despite lower models having 1tb options. A strange choice by oppo.

Somehow I like the single colour design of the back from the previous Oppo Find X6 Pro. The Oppo Find X7 doesn't really hit the mark with the dual tone design this year. Better just get plain single coloured back.

Nice cameras! So it IS possible to seemlessly switch between cameras/zoom levels while recording in 4k30! But is it also possibly while recording in 4k60? I would LOVE to have a phone to be able to do that. I know S24 uktra can do it - but no way I am hoing to pay 1399€ for a phone with mediocre at best 5x optical zoom quality

The 1 inch is not the IMX989 but LYT900 which is a newer and better sensor. Yeah seems like they have to improve stuff still.

Camera hardware is around 2X better than the S24U. Having better 3X, OPPO has periscope, and better ultra-wide and 6X periscope. I also prefer the primary.

Thanks for the honesty review ... I would like to ask you if the oppo find x7 ultra and one plus 12 has the same features (UI)in terms of software since they both have color os. Tradindshenzen offers one plus for around 647 amd x7 ultra for around 920. Is it worth it to pay 300 more ? Because I found out that the main difference in x7 ultra is the another periscope camera

4:29, I recorded party lighting this weekend in HDR Dolby Vision, this screen is blindingly bright!! 4500nits works only in HDR and only about 10% of the screen can be this bright at a time.

10% window it's measured the same way as TVs anyway 4.5k nits it's really impressive, watching videos in hdr you have the best highlight spots on a mobile device, screen in that phone is just amazing

i live in nz too.im holding a x6pro chinese version, you can install google service quite easy and g pay works 100% along with other google app, 5g works,gps works(google map|).im sure x7u is the same.but keep in mind compare with phones with build in google service ,all chinese phone with "add on" google service will have minor issue like google auto might not work, playstore download /update lag, sometimes gmail push service delay and sometimes gmap lose signal ,all due to the system killing background app as the google service is "add on" to the Chinese Os system.

When are we going to see the global version of this phone?

Does this support Google Pay? Or would I need a global version for that?

I think this may be the only phone that will pull me away from my s24 ultra. Usually I get the latest ultra , then seel it and get the oneplus as it's usually smoother and more fluid. But this year, and I don't know what Sammy has done , but the s24 ultra is as smooth as iPhone. But oppo,.I love em.

Hope this guy review for Honor Magic 6 Pro since the periscope was the largest sensor at least for now.

9300的版本除了相机不那么顶级意外，其他方面和ultra差不太多，屏幕分辨率虽然不如ultra，但是实际体验区别并不大。

Thanks for the review, overall the camera colors are gorgeous and the images lovely.. but I find the zooming and jerkiness when changing lenses quite appalling. I hope this is some kind of a beta software running or that they fix it before release because this is as bad as I have ever seen on just about any phone.. ever.

The lens switch was pretty good and smooth. The issue seems to be stabilization when zooming in and I believe that's because this was done on the old firmware, the new zoom buttons should make this smoother

@yuidfbse Yes we did, not sure what you watched but the actual transition was smooth. It's the shakiness that's making you believe otherwise and as I said they improved it in an update which replaced the zoom slider with buttons.

You said at 11:51 its the IMX 989 but thats wrong. The Oppo Find X7 Ultra use the new Lytia 900 sensor at its Main Camera.

You are supposed to pay taxes if the supplier does not. The supplier has fine print blaming the buyer if there are any issues with Customs.

As an Oppo reno 10 pro+ user, I have to admit battery life on my phone suck. I have it for 4 months and now the battery health has degrade into 98%. Never charged it while gaming and never leave it on charge all night while I'm sleeping. My wife bought ip 14 pro max 6 months before I bought the oppo and the battery health is still 100%

X100Pro is not global, and by that, I mean in Europe or the US.

I notice some stuttering in the videos taken with the phone.

The phone has the LYT-900 sensor, not the IMX989.

The only reason to buy this phone is the price. I would say go for it if the price is 150-200 USD lower compared to Samsung's S24 Ultra (or if you're chinese living in China). But if the price is the same or slightly lower than S24 Ultra then I see no reason of getting it. I also don't understand why they make "flagships" but always screw up in small things like poor EIS/no EIS, low sound bitrate while shooting videos, etc. Even last year's OnePlus 11 was missing the wireless charging! What kind of "flagship" comes without the wireless charging?! I'm sorry, but this feature is available for many mid-rangers these days.

as my understanding and bit research , android auto require build in google service in system ,all Chinese local phones with "add on" google service wont work because its not part of the system.

Piece of advice, The US has shutdown 3g and Canada is looking at doing the same next year(it will probably take longer). Carriers are restricting chinese phones and if they are not certified they will not work for voice+sms. I dont know about Oppo, but do your research.

The curve screen looks outdated compared to Huawei,Xiaomi and Honor own (this year )

If you campare the specs vs iphone or Samsung this OPPO is why more cheaper but still a higher specs on the hardware but still manage to compete on top brands like Samsung and iphone. People will see the OPPO is getting better than others

Excellent review Chris as always...I'm glad I gave up these Chinese experiments and switched to Samsung...it turns out that it's not enough to produce only great hardware but much more important is the tuning of the software and the user environment and here the Chinese are starting to lag behind

I have used ColorOS for nearly two years, and only recently has Samsung improved enough to be as smooth. My Find X5 Pro has been a beast from day one, and updates are every three months. Rarely do they cause issues, as Samsung updates can. It would help if you did some fiddling to get better camera results, as point-and-shoot is not as good as an iPhone, Pixel or Galaxy Ultra.

It's a great phone, I really like it. BUT notifications are pure pain, AOD screen is unusable as only supported Chinese apps can show icon there. If you need a smart camera it could be a good choice, otherwise it's better to find more balanced phone. With a heavy heart I will send this phone back 😞

It would help if you had to set up once to get notifications on time, and when you upgrade, all settings will cross over. It's a pain the first time, but it's worth it. AOD is fine on my global Find X5 Pro.

AOD work fine on your Find X5 because it is the global one. The main problem of the Find X7 is the Chinese ROM. There is a huge difference between global and Chinese ColorOS. It's not enough just to enable notifications and permit the background activity. You need to enable auto start for the app, but there is a ridiculous limit on 5 apps. Then you need to lock apps to protect them from accidental close, but again only 5 apps. At the end of the day you will need to pick 5 most important apps and for the rest - after every reboot you will need to start every app manually and keep it open to get notifications. And if you will accidentally tap on Close All - you'll need to start over again. I believe it's too much complicated. It should bring you joy every day and not pain.
