Great review, I really appreciate your balanced honest reviews. Thank you. As there was no global release for the Oppo I ended up getting the Honor and very happy with my choice.

@@LordAngelus How's the 4G/5G signal strength? And WiFi connection/speeds? I know Honor said its custom RF chip would improve 4G/5G signals in poor coverage areas/rooms etc compared to other phones. And that it's separate individual WiFi chip (not a dual combined WiFi & Bluetooth chip like in all other current smartphones) would improve WiFi connection and speeds.

i think it depends on personal preference. Oppo seems to be doing better on colors, and it is more like DSLR, ie less digital precessing. Magic did a better job on algorithm and oppo still needs a few updates for us to judge. overal all, magic is slightly better value considering it costs quite a bit less.

Hello. Im between these 2 phones. I lean towards Oppo by specs but seems that Honor has done a superb job in image processing. It costs quite a bit less but would that be because it has a lower resolution less advanced camera and compensates that with a bigger storage?

@@dv2045 oppo x6 pro is doing great after a few updates. i think it is better than the magic in almost all aspects now (battery size being the major exception).

I'm assuming the Honor magic 5 pro is on the pre May software update which has been released in China. The Honor achieved 97% in the Wild Life stability test as one of the other KZread reviewers has mentioned with the new update. So with this new update things may improve even further in the photography department 😜

Great stuff. Thanks a lot. I slightly prefer the honor overall. They are almost neck and neck for rear cameras but overall considering the front cameras too I would go for it. I also like that they have the falcon capture mode for moving subjects. It's a nice extra feature to have. Just disappointed they don't have gms on the Chinese version as otherwise I'd get one.

They have just added it to the global site recently so I can see it now thank you. Update: I was mistaken, they were only showing the case on the global site but not selling. I called customer service who said it was only sent out as free promotional gift. Luckily I managed to find one on eBay arriving soon.

Both are very good for it. The Mate 60 Pro overall as a camera system a bit better. If its only about the main camera take the Oppo as it offers the better main camera for sure. I think this decision between them both should be more about the OS and the Google Services and if you need them.

I expected more from the oppo. The front camera is about nothing, the sound recording is worse. The video is more interesting to shoot honor According to the photo + / -, each camera has its own nuances, but honor is often better. So the oppo also has a svershirik with too narrow a viewing angle, and honor has a huge plus that the telephoto lens can focus much closer. And the Samsung sensor is not much smaller than the imx989 and gives an excellent result. Honor, all the same, the peeling flagship of 2023, as for me

Honor magic 5pro is the best

I had Huawei P40 pro before. I bought the Honor and I am returning it now. What I don't like: you can't shoot raw except with the main camera. I compared the raw images with the jpg photos generated by the Honor device and there is too much processing in the jpg files. Green mountains in the background have color changed to blue (raw vs jpg) Trees are sometimes detailed but most times look like green cotton. Zoom involves a lot of processing and smoothing giving often an oil painting look with sharp bits that were recognized by the software ( like letters, windows, houses) . The original raw/dng files have excellent colors and detail (even if only 25mb compared to the 100mb of the p40 pro) but the over processing and the lack of raw shooting on the wide and 3.5x camera make it a bad choice. Also the battery is ok but not excellent.

@@bedizta Yes. I was comparing it to a 3 year old phone (P40 Pro) that I have, mainly photography wise. It is not a great step forward as the reviewers make it look to be.

@@Gunawan-bb2hn P40 Pro, yes for the camera, probably due to the processing algorithms. Also for the zoom camera, Honor can't hold a candle to P40. On the other hand more consistent colors for Honor at camera switching, processing power, google services and battery life... it's Honor. Ended up getting S23 ultra 😅 (and still keeping the P40pro)

You can shoot RAW only on the main camera, not on wide or 3.5x. Good 25mb files (compared to 100mb on p40 pro)with little processing. You can read my other comment here.

Thanks for another great review. Do you think the Vivo x90 pro+ has been beaten in photography? So far, I'm not convinced any phone can match it's ability to retain highlights in night scenes (Zeiss coating/V2 chip). A feature I really enjoy!

I think in general that the Honor photoes has strange unnatural colors!...BUT its hard to know when I'm not there to compare with the real colors 🤔

What about screen time and mobile network signal reception on honor ?

@@lltechview The custom RF chip in the Honor Magic5 Pro for better 4G/5G signal in poor coverage areas sounds like it's beneficial. As does the separate WiFi chip in the Honor Magic5 Pro for improved WiFi connection and speeds.

The sensor sizes for the Honor are wrong, the telephoto is the IMX 858 which is 1/2.5", not 1/1.56 like the Oppo, I haven't been able to find anything regarding size of the wide angle but since it's not advertised, I'd say it's probably now a big sensor either.

As pointed out by others the specs are wrong on the Honor. They are copy and pasted from the Oppo which is totally wrong and slipped through my checks.

I have a lot to talk about... but first of all congratulations on the comparison... 1st. Without a doubt, Honor was better than Oppo, which on the one hand is a surprise to me, on the other not so much, because I believe that Oppo's great advantage is in night or poorly lit scenarios, which was not much explored by you here ...but even so, if Oppo won I don't think it would be by much because of Honor's great sensor and larger aperture. 2nd. You prefer the clearer vibe of the Honor, even knowing that it is quite artificial, but it totally crucified the Samsung... that for me was one of your biggest inconsistencies this year, because I follow dozens of comparisons on international channels every day and both most compared devices are the recently launched Xiaomi 13 Ultra and the first Ultra of the year, the S23... I think I could reconsider resuming comparisons with it, especially after the huge update package promised for this month and with new features. 3rd. In 2 or 3 cases I noticed you very divided when choosing a winner in the photo, but despite being noticeable the Oppo winning, it was possible to feel a certain inclination of yours to give the victory to Honor, perhaps because of some frustrated expectations with the Oppo, which was possible to observe in another recent review of yours... try not to go into the field of favoritism, because whoever is on the other side of the screen realizes that impartiality is not cool, even more so on a channel that has been standing out as yours... here's the tip my friend. A big hug and once again, congratulations!

Thanks for your feedback. The artifical editing differences between Honor and Samsung are there and Samsungs way with even more punchy colours and overshadpening than the Honor is what I criticise the most when it comes to the S23 Ultra.

Спасибо, интересный обзор. Думаю взять себе HONOR, нравится его обработка фото. Качество и технологии Huawei, только без проблем с Google и менее агрессивной обработкой фото. Huawei делает фотографию яркой, но пластиковой и стерильной, HONOR пошли по другому пути и это радует. Oppo превращает любую зелень в кислотно тропическую, но не везде на нашей планете зелень имеет такой цвет.

Both cam specs you write starting at 0.25 are Oppo's. There isn't specs for Honor. 😅

Pretty interesting. Maybe they have a different value system. So they value the main camera more than the ultrawide and zoom as well as other features like the camera app experience and functions.

Find x6 is better in color and texture, more 3D, but a bit less resolution than Magic 5Pro, I will choice Find X6 because we look at the whole picture and feel it but not use a microscope to look into the photo

Weird, I have ordered Mate 50 pro, 3 minutes after turning it on, i directly tried camera. Really bad, hard to focus, pictures are not clean and sharp like the honor magic 5 pro. I really, really do not advise people to buy mate 50 pro

@@mc30052 I use both phones, the camera of Mate 50 Pro is a little better than Honor , also the face unlock works much better on Honor Magic 5 Pro. Both phones are great, Honor wins because has gms!
